Funniest part is the foul was called on Casemiro for him getting a boot to the back of the calf.

Although the guy is a bit of a card magnet, he does get called for some that aren't fouls. His athleticism in some tackles is too much for the other player, who falls down and gets Casemiro in trouble.

It's even better if you consider that the guy that kicked him (by accident), performed a 360 in mid air and screamed so loud that priests were preparing to call his parents and prepare them for the worst.

Then the guy gets up and plays on, Casemiro out injured. Football sucks. :D

Club statement said: "Following tests carried out today on Casemiro at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, he has been diagnosed with a fracture to the central third of his left fibula. His recovery will continue to be assessed."
    Out until November at least.

We need to bring back Marcos this winter. We can't risk Casemiro become injury-prone.

This isn't "luck" though. If you decided to go into a season of 55-60 games with only 1 player for a position and hope he doesn't get injured, like we did with the DM, and LB (yes, I don't consider Coentrao a backup), and like how we did with Benzy in last season then of course the luck will come to bite us in our asses at some point. It has more to do with planning than luck, we will see how we'll adjust now without Casemiro, but personally I'd bring Llorente back in January even if it's hindering his progress.

BANG ON ... not getting a LB in the summer was a HUGE MISTAKE.
at this point to be honest, dont think we have a CHOICE ... Llorente MUST come back.

Meh, I disagree about LB. Just because some of y'all think the club decided togo into the season with 1 LB, doesn't mean it's true. Danilo has shown and is showing he can play LB at a good level. Then there's Nacho and Coentrao. Who could we have got as back-up that is better than these 3?

    Agreed about back-up DM.

This one's on Flo, him and no one else. When it comes to transfers he'll ******** it up one way or the other.

Should have pushed someone out of the club to get a DM. James, Isco, Kovacic, completely irrelevant which one of them.

I still think we'll be fine.

We already have to cut Mariano and Nacho out of damn near every match squad since we're so stacked overall as a team. I can understand why another DM wasn't brought.

My hope is that Kova is tried there. Or worst case scenario, Modric, Kroos, and Kova/Isco provide enough of a collective defensive effort that Casemiro isn't missed too much.

I don't have much hope for the BVB game but I'm sure we can scrap out wins against the others. I also hope Casemiro comes back on time. This club has a tendency to announce a player coming back at a certain time and then they end up coming back much later.

So he's out for at least a month? What games will he miss?

I think a Kroos - Modric - Kovacic midfield would offer the most balance.

For me, either Kova or Kroos need to be at DM. Modric is better used up the pitch plus he isn't as good as Kroos at DLM.

    Kova/Isco/James --- Kroos/Kova --- Modric
Or we can just go back to using 4-4-2.

    Cristiano/Benz --- Bale/Morata
    Isco/Asensio --- Kroos --- Modric/Kova --- James/Lucas

Without Casemiro, we need Carlo's 442 and sacrifice a member of the BBC

Coentrao is awesome. We've got Nacho and Danilo to provide back up until he's fit. It's not that big of a deal... :p

Lots of other things to be concerned about IMO, such as getting the midfield balance right while Casemiro is out, getting Ramos' 5th yellow (and ensuing suspension) out of the way without losing points, getting the BBC to press more, getting Benzema back in form, and getting Cristiano to play more as LWF instead of false-LWF.

(Hehe, I love this false-LWF term. Putting it 5th on my troll terms list after PLOFIE, MUppetland/#GGMUppets, shitEPL, and anti-football. :devilish: Sorry, #ChickenLittle.)

We might go for the run and gun style that we used under Ancelotti now that Casemiro is injured for a longer period of time. Our defence is all but stable and our attack is usually our strongest weapon.

Could have been worse if It was one month down the line. Still rough though. Also, even IF he comes back on the designated date it'll take him a 3-4 games to get his feet under him.

Trying to polish the turd a bit, better to have the injury now than in March or April.

Even with Casemiro and Marcelo and even Modric we struggled against Sporting. It is more a matter of attitude and intensity, not the players. I hope Zidane fixes it.

Well uncle flo has gotten us Navas, Varane, Modric, Kroos, Isco, Bale just to name a few. I don't think that's too bad at all.
