A number of folks have talked about this at games & watch events. Now that the Aztex seen is over (*sniffle*), let's see what interest there might really be. There are two levels of UT soccer we could check out: the NCAA women's team, and a men's "club" team. They each play their A&M rivals at home in the next few weeks: Fri. Oct. 22 - Men's club team vs Texas A&M, 7:00 at Whitaker rec fields Fri. Oct. 29 - Women's team vs Texas A&M, 7:00 at Myers field Anyone up for either or both of these? Tailgating prior, maybe?
The men's club team would love to have some Chantico's Army support I'm sure. I had two of them on Futbol En Vivo lastw eek and they're good kids. That might be a fun time.
Good memory, Barbaro. Wes was playing with the Longhorns Club program prior to coming to the Aztex in 2008 for the PDL squad. He and Miguel are the only Aztex to play for the team all 3 seasons. Jamie Watson could be included, although he only came on last year after the USL2 season finished.
I think I will be going to see the UT Girls play Oklahoma State this Friday (Oct 22 @ 7pm), if anybody else wants to go.
Unfortunately I won't be able to go to either of Friday's games, after all. And too bad, as that's the last regular-season home game for the men's team. I do still plan on going to next week's women's game, and would be happy to have anyone join me, meet there, whatever. The response in the poll above wasn't too overwhelming, so I won't worry too much about saving seats.
What can I say...I'm a disenfranchised voter, so I didn't vote. But' I will see you there if you post here to remind me next week.
Hey everybody, I know the game is in an hour and a half, but they have a special deal tonight. If you being 5 Non-perishable food items to the Lady-Longhorns game tonight then you can get in for only $2. Help feed the hungry this fall at Texas Soccer and Volleyball
This idea to catch a couple of UT games has been more than overshadowed by recent events. The last week (only a week, can you believe that?) has been one crazy ride. Nevertheless, what the hell. This is the Longhorns' final match of the year, so this is the last chance until next fall. So I'm going. Let me know if you want to meet up there, or before. http://www.texassports.com/sports/w-soccer/spec-rel/102810aac.html
Wish I could make it. I'm getting dinner with my lovely wife to celebrate six months of marriage. I hope others can go to support the Longhorns and soccer in Austin.
I hope I don't leave anyone hanging, but I've decided to bail on the UT game tonight after all. Late night last night, heading home.
It depends on the field. The grass is generally nice and pretty well maintained. Most of the fields do indeed have bleachers, but not all of them.
