Sorry but quality sides don't get blown out, they also win the games that they should win and they win their group. This talk of "deserve" is a steaming load of deuce.
I think we were poor, but if luck had gone with us on Dempsey's goal or Lampard's non-goal it could've been a different story. I don't feel any sense of injustice though, a goal's a goal even if it's the result of keepers error and thoguh we were flying high when Lampard got his two goals in the Germany match and if the 2nd one had been allowed it may well have chanbged he story of the game, I can't say say Germany weren't the deserved winners.
Of course they are pre tournament odds....the Dutch are about 9/4........apparently you're not much of a gambler....

I think this has been more important in a very strange way for US supporters to argue that their team would go deep. I don't recall many Argies or so arguing like that.
Read through this thread....it'll take awhile....they are many Argentinians predicting an Argie win or at least a south american win...
You'll always find some kind of chest-thumping in threads like this. But I think the people in traditional soccer power countries didn't focus on stats like that in real discussions; it's still about the game, and the teams, and not about interpretation of stats.
