Heart over head.....though I do have $50.00 on Holland to win it....@11/1...(thats head over heart)....If they get to the final I can't lose as I'll put $100.00 on whoever they are playing.

Sorry but quality sides don't get blown out, they also win the games that they should win and they win their group.
This talk of "deserve" is a steaming load of deuce.

I think we were poor, but if luck had gone with us on Dempsey's goal or Lampard's non-goal it could've been a different story.

I don't feel any sense of injustice though, a goal's a goal even if it's the result of keepers error and thoguh we were flying high when Lampard got his two goals in the Germany match and if the 2nd one had been allowed it may well have chanbged he story of the game, I can't say say Germany weren't the deserved winners.

I'm curious now. Who is offering 11/1 at a Dutch WC victory?? Or are these pre-tournament ods?

Of course they are pre tournament odds....the Dutch are about 9/4........apparently you're not much of a gambler....

Nope, not a gambler at all. But I never missed a penalty kick in my life. :)

I genuinely don't understand. You don't consider Italy a part of Europe.

Oh but his goverment was all to happy to trade the weak lire for the stronger Euro. They only use Europe when they need them. What an idealism.

I think this has been more important in a very strange way for US supporters to argue that their team would go deep. I don't recall many Argies or so arguing like that.

1994, 2002 and 2010 are the World Cups the US advanced past the group stage. All outside of Europe.

You'll always find some kind of chest-thumping in threads like this. But I think the people in traditional soccer power countries didn't focus on stats like that in real discussions; it's still about the game, and the teams, and not about interpretation of stats.
