I voted for America because i am hoping a Mexican team finally wins this cup But... I don't think this current America squad has what it takes to win it.. They had a better chance of winning it the last 2 times they made it to the semifinals.. but i think that's as far as they will go this time around.

If Liga keeps Ochoa busy, and marks Cabañas well, then America has no weapons to strike back with..

The only think that can hurt La Liga is the psychological weight of America's jersey.. because after all.. it is America:cool:

    ... really, now?

I think more than the team itself, Azteca Stadium is such a monumental scenario that it could create a feeling of uneasiness. That + altitude + pollution is what makes that place a fort. Let's face it, America's exposure in South America has only happened recently and I somehow doubt anyone thinks of them as some sort of unbeatable, mythical team.

Hopefully America wins it. We have to get another good result at home, hopefully we can get atleast a 2 goal lead.

and the altitude is lower than Quito, so part of the Azteca advantage is gone.
But Liga won't have a home altitude advantage either.

Dude, Fluminense is weight, Estudiantes is weight, San Lorenzo is weight in the tshirt. I dont see that in the perception we have of America. It is a good team, but I dont feel it the same. In my own opinion, they are more of a unpredictable team to play. Cant tell if they will have a good of bad night. They seem so inconsistent. As proven though, Liga does not get easily intimidated when playing away, if any, we go forward which becomes a good surprise since its not expected, just like with the Argentinos.

Yet another ridiculous assumption. Liga, has proven by far, that they do not play just around the Altura. We played great away games against san lorenzo, estudiantes, and Arsenal. I would mention Fluminense and Libertad, but in all honesty we didnt even take the first team, at this point we had already passed on to second round.

However, I dont take your comment wrong, hopefully all America feels that way, selling us short.

Dude... You are talking to South Americans here ... America is of little relevance to us out side of Libertadores. America is not a spectacular team to begin with .. good yes ... but not deserving of the phrase I highlighted from your statement. LIbertad is tough,Fluminense is tough, three top Argentinian teams that LDU eliminated- Arsenal, Estudiantes, and San Lorenzo are tough, America will be a hard opponent although they are inconsistent.. but they mos def do not have the weight remotely close to the teams LDU has clashed with and even eliminated.

May the best team win. Let's go Liga.

You got a good team and it will be tough, luckily we are used to the altitude.
