Don't really think they are real contenders for the title. didn't really wanna put up too many optionz, thats why. Have the revs ever been Concacaf Champs? dont think so

They have the best record in the MLS and are on a roll.

I think Saprissa might be due. They've been quiet for awhile...

I think you're mistaking quiet for dead there jared.

    I keed! I keed! ;)

While they'll likely come in as the favorites, it's a very wide open field. This is the first year we could really see any of a half dozen teams taking the title.

i don't care if you insult cruz azul, just as long as you don't talk trash about 2 certain other clubs :D jk, its kinda true in a way, they haven't even been Mexican champions in over 10 years.

I think we can safely discount Montreal ... what are they, last place in the USL? They didn't even beat Toronto one on one, tieing one game and losing the other. If they get past Nicarauga - which they well might, then it's going to be a bloodbath in the group stage.

The Dynamo! (I'm a bit partial)

P.S. the revs have no chance.

Like I said, everyone's just going to say their own team, so that's that.

It's going to be one of three teams and they are as follows:

    1. Houston Dynamo
    2. Santos Laguna
    3. Saprissa

If I absolutely needed to give you one team it would have to be Saprissa. You heard it here first. I do however think the MLS will do very well in this tournament. Until I see an MLS team being able to go away and win a big game (i.e. Houston and DC) I can not predict an MLS team to win it all. I think that NE will surprise. Houston is my second pick. They look very good and are on the way to win the BS tournament we call the Superliga. At the end of the day though, I think Saprissa will take the first CONCACAF Champions League!!!

I just noticed something about the draw and format. This is one of those little things that drive me nuts...

Why do they hold yet another draw AFTER the group stages to generate the knockout rounds? Why not just say "A1vB2, etc..." before the initial draw?

(Answer: So they can manipulate the matchups.)

They do that with the UEFA champions league as well. Is it the same way with the Copa Libertadores?

I don't think they do that in Libertadores.

In the Libertadores they have a table with all the teams going to the round of 16 and the matchups are decided by their positioning. For example the best qualified of the 16 faces the last one, the 2nd faces the 15th, the 3rd faces the 14th, the 4th faces the 13th, and so on.
