No way. Maradona is not a Croatia, but a Brazil fan.
And I'm very proud of it!

When it comes to Pele's predictions everyone always mentions Colombia '94 and nothing else. Although it looked incredibly dumb after the fact, the Colombians were quite a prospect going into that tournament. In hindsight, losing to Romania in their opener was no shame given that Romania were among the best teams at that tournament. Only went out on penalties. Would have loved to have seen them against Brazil.
In their second match the Colombian players had other things on their minds, even if it was against the U.S.
Citing his '94 prediction is boringly old, imo. What other predictions has Pele made that make him not look like a genius?

Maybe he just liked the Croatian name. We named our daughter Alethea, which is Greek for truth, but neither of us have any connections with Greece.

There are all sorts of reasons why people choose the names for their kids. You are making too much of it.

Either i make too much of it either you just try to diminish a fact...the fact that a guy that adored his croatian's grandparents gave his daughter this same croatian's name, and this guy likes croatia as well as he goes there almost every years, got croatian family and friends and was also present in croatia for events after independance...it is a lot of coincidences in same time for a guy that would not care about his origins there...
We can repeat the same things thousands times again lol
You have your opinion i got mine.

Your non-stop promotion of Croatia on the Group D page is pretty tiresome. Now you are invading other threads with it.

Do you work for the Croatian Tourist Office? :p

Well initially i was just teasing shortly about a chilean player scoring against Serbia i am not the one that found the need to develop this point seriously so i don't feel guilty about that
I said already 5 times that it was not important to agree on this topic...if i want to say that people that got croatian decents got croatian decents why can't you stand it?

Indeed i talk about an amaizing beautiful country with a rich history, the mediterranean pearl ^^

Just to throw it in: Serbia got Prijovic! He played for Swiss youth squads, became a prominent striker at Legia Warsaw, moved to Greece, and, since Swiss NT ignored him for some time, decided to play for Serbia. Great player (we called him Little Zlatan in Warsaw, due to his similar appearance and ability to score situational goals) and may have a point to prove vs Squadra Swizzera.

Even with the "finger in a light socket" hair increasing his height, Marcelo looks out of place in the back row. :x3:

Serbia with a good starting 11:

    Ivanovic milenkovic tosic kolarov
    Matic milinkovic savic
    Tadic llajic kostic
    Mitrovic

    Scores 5 goals.

I hope to see the same 11 starting the games in Russia.

    They are...
Senegal didn't win one single game against croatia luxembourg bosnia hercegovina and you will see how tough they are when the tournament will start.

You see i can find other examples beside my origins teams ;)

I don't care much about friendlies results but at leaat give the best 11 time together to find their rythm...and the serbian coach didn t do that till today.

Matic and Milinkovic-Savic looks like "twin towers" in the middle.
It will be interesting if you will play together in ManUtd .

Problem of the Serbia can be a defensive line.
Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina is super talented CB, but he is young and has not played an official match for the senior national team .
    Kolarov is too offensive FB.
Tosic had a good season in Besiktas, but I am not sure about his quality.
Ivanovic did not have a good season in Zenit.
Nastasic from Schalke is seriously injured.
I dont know why Subotic does not play.

Also, Serbia played in the qualifications 3-4-2-1 formation.
Although they were placed on WC, coach is fired.
New coach has changed the formation.

There is no doubt that Serbia is a more talented team than Costa Rica and Switzerland and their players are technically much better.
But the Costa Rica and Swiss are more experienced, more aggressive and teammating teams.

Yes. I was suprised that some former Partizan Belgrade players like Stefan Savic and Stevan Jovetic play for Montenegro.
The former Napoli player Nikola Maksimovic played well in the qualifications, but at that time Serbia played with three players in the defansive line like Napoli for a long time.
In a formation with four defenders, he is not playing the best.
Very bad season for him in Spartak Moscow.

Yepp but the defensive line got routine and they have played together for a long time.
Youngblood Milenkovic with routine Ivanovic et, if they are going to play low i think it can work (maybe i just wish that)
