He seemed like the best combination of cheapness/good coaching.

I fear for his communication skills. He's one of the worst communicators I've ever whitnessed.

But, for the coaching, I think he will do great.
I'm also affraid that he won't build on a new team (see thread "soul of the national team") but that he will just go on the way it was, calling up old players who are no good anymore in four years time.

Thats what i really hope wont happen. No Vanderhaeges or players of that type. Bring up the youth!

I was right my friends :rolleyes:I posted this on October 16th.Anyway I hope as cdp conrad119 wrote "old good guys" as Vanderhaeghe (total respect to him for his carreer !) have their time with NT finished.I think Rene VDH has already something in his mind to qualify us for Euro 2008

Simply as I wrote in my previous post:; I don't like the guy and his way of communicating, he has often an arrogant attitude. Its a problem that also sponsors of the NT noticed.I would have preferred a guy like Eric Gerets but I must admit that VDH has talent and should be OK as NT.He has now only one goal: qualifiying us for EC in 2008.

Surely Robert Wasiege would have been cheaper, having been manager recently, ansd a good coach due to the performance in Japan and Korea 2002!

HES RETIRED! And Rene Vandereycken was free, doesnt get much cheaper then that. Also, after that WC, he dropped fast

Most of the talk about money was how much it would cost to get a coah away from their team that they were coaching. Salary wasnt as much of an issue.
