well a loss in a reserve game is still a loss, but not as bad as it would have been had it been a "real" game. As for Jaime and Zach it sounds like they both got some solid playing time, and Jamie came close ta scorin it sounds soo good on him.
TwoMeters and Superhoops, thanks for the updates on the former Aztex...(I'd rather see Zack come back, but he needs to do what's best for him.) D@rn, now I might have to be more than a casual Hoops fan. I did have a pretty good time in Pizza Hut park over Labor Day. Pretty entertaining game and a nice stadium. I guess if they pick up Zack too, I will have to get a new jersey... What a shame
Well, if Zack doesn't get picked up by Dallas this will probably help his chances of getting a deal with the Aztex USL-1 team at least. He is a nice kid and a talented enough I think.
Lastest from the FCD blog. Check out the one at the end of the story. http://worldcupway.blogspot.com/2008/09/slam-dunk.html
Another player we've talked about trying to nab for the USL-1 side is being looked at by Dallas: Felix Garcia, guest player. Sounds like his status is a little complicated:
Interesting bits about Jamie Watson's contract situation: http://www.3rddegree.net/2008/12/other-moves/ http://worldcupway.blogspot.com/2008/12/catching-up-on-fcd.html
Thanks for passing along that update! With the reduction in MLS rosters, I think the odds are pretty good that we'll be able to get Tintin back here in town.
Just heard from the Aztex that they have also signed Kieron Bernard from the 2008 PDL squad to the USL1 side. They've got an article about it at the Aztex website. Congratulations, Kieron!! We'll look forward to seeing you on the USL1 side next season!!
Although I'm not sure what his interest is in playing for the USL1 side, you can see 2008 PDL Alumnus Austin da Luz who plays for Wake Forest will be playing tomorrow (Friday, December 12) in the NCAA Men's Soccer Cup. They play N. Carolina in the semi-finals at 4:30 p.m. CST (in Friscoe) on ESPN2.
Well, I didn't see Austin da Luz in the game, which may be for the best since the Tar Heels just upset WF 1-0. NC played a hell of a game, but Wake had tons of shots on goal that simply wouldn't go in.
Austin da Luz was a substitute on the field but didn't play much minutes in that game. Credit the Tar Heels goalkeeper & defense for shuting down the Decons' attack. It was similar to the Red Bulls playoffs win over Real Salt Lake.
Here's an interview with Kieron Bernard on the Aztex's website: http://www.austinaztex.com/home/294747.html
you know lads, all ready I have the ut most confidence in the development of our pro sides defensive third. With El Primero in the goal and with the Rasta Man, ok he may not be Rasta but I like the sound of it so leave off , we all ready have a ton of experience and talent for the rest of our def. to be built around.
