The Real Madrid is a sporting club that belong to its "socios/members", like other two clubs in Spain - Barcelona and Atletico de Bilbao. I'm "socio" of the Real Madrid. Every 4 years the members of the club vote to choose a new president between the others members. The team have around 80.000 socios. The "socios" pay every year a money (similar to a season ticket) to see the team and to use the sporting installations. Many years ago that was the principal support for the team, but now the principal support are the TV rights and the merchandaising. The Real is the team that win more money with the Pay per view in spain. Also the team have its own TV channel, that is the soccer club TV channel with more subscribers in the world. The Real is the most famous club in the world or at least the one with best history (i've been subjetive but i think that is true). The team was named for FIFA the best soccer club of the history and Brazil the best national team of the history. This is mean a lot support around the world and a great money in merchardaising. The RM make a recent study with the result that the team have around 70 million of loyal supporters around the world. That is a very big money and the REal is taking advantage of that like the manchester did before.
Noone. The clubs in Europe don`t belong anyone. The exception is England where most of them are listed at the stockmarket. But generally the clubs have members or "socios" which elect the president etc. This president leads the club then.
There are many non-PLC (privately owned) clubs in Europe. Liverpool and Tottenham (I think) are examples. Perhaps AC Milan, too? There are many, many such clubs at the first division and lower-levels of English soccer. There are also a fair amount of teams that are wholly-owned subsidiaries of holding companies and/or consortiums - such as Glasgow Rangers and Lazio (until recently if the sale has gone through). I always assumed that this was the case with quite a few teams throughout Europe. For instance, I thought Bayer Leverkusen was owned by the aspirin manufacturer. I might be wrong, however.
