    Fernando Torres.

    I don't label Ronaldo as a forward.

He clearly is one. I'd go for David Villa over the last season and this season too.

Forwards don't drift to the wing as much as he does. Is Real Madrid playing a 4-3-3 with him ? Is Manuel Pellegrini being tricked by Ronaldo, labelling him as a midfielder in his formation but Ronaldo playing as an attacker?

Ronaldo is a Winger that is a machine. That's why he scores so many goals. Not because he's a forward.

If Ronaldo is a forward, than Lionel Messi is the best forward.

    Messi ain't the best anything.

    1. Pass to Xavi
    2. Run through the box
    3. Recieve perfectly placed pass
    4. Turn And shoot

Or lingers wide outside the box and sprints to pick up the scraps from missed shots from teamates. He's too limited, nowhere near Ronaldo's level.

Look at this pass from Xavi:
    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hokq-7olthE"]YouTube - Messi VS Getafe[/ame]

i mean he did everything for Messi to score, it was just so easy.
But lets not turn this into a messi vs ronaldo discussion, that was settled in Rome. Hopefully it will be settled again in Madrid twice.

Are you saying that he's as multi-faceted as Ronaldo? Not even close.

Nothing was settled in Rome, watch this season when Ronaldo gets to play against La Liga defenses week-in week-out. BTW, we've all seen that Getafe goal a hundred times. It gets monotonous. Also Xavi did pass it to him. :D

do duh! you must be Einstein.
I agree, EPL defenses are much tougher. I think Ronaldo is a great player 2nd best, its my opinion and I understand why you would think Ronaldo is the best.
Again its great they will meet head on and settle this nonsense.

I didn't say that's all he does, but those two examples are a major part of his game. How many 1-2 goals have you seen with Messi outside the box, he lays off to someone then sprints and gets a great pass to him?

he does not dribble at defenders, open up the field, inter-link with Iniesta and Xavi, provide many assists and penetrating passes and on and on?

Vs. Inter in the CL, they closed off his dribbles, he was useless. All he did was pass and go. Just like Chelsea shut him down last year in both matches. The glorious goals he does get are products of him playing in Spain or playing weak sides in the champions league. Did you see Ronaldo's first goal agianst Xerez? He dribbled around five defenders.

If you watch united's games over the last few seasons he been getting more of a forward ever since RVN left united especially in european nights where he won forward of the year in 2008. It is only now that he joined RMCF that he has reverted back to the wings.

Feel free to open a new thread about who the most complete forward is. This thread is about who is the best forward. Most complete != Best

So I'd say Messi is the best.

They already met head-on last season. Remind me what happened again? :D
