IMO - Basile's biggest mistake is Riquelme. He slows down the attack too much.

Argentina tiene la selección más competitiva esta vez.

Brasil no llevó lo mejor que tiene.

Argentina left some good players out from the cup... but i guess Basile is trying to balance the team... he's a great coach

Brasil only left out Ronaldinho and Kaka' :S

well it's not really a question of who brazil left out, but our injuries and out of form players like adriano and ronaldo. we're digging really deep into our forward pool and well, it's not very pretty.

Which good players form the world cup exactly did argentina "leave out" of the copa? Maxi Rodriguez is the only one that comes to mind and he's not playing becasue he recently returned from an injury and everyone agrees they should let him rest....

Meanwhile Brasil is without several key players from the world cup such as Ronaldinho, Kaka, Dida, Roberto Carlos, Juninho, Emerson, Lucio, Cicinho and so on.....

Both 'Dinho and Kaka asked to be left out, so that's a moot point already.

Due to age, the following guys won't be around for the next WCQ cycle: Carlos, Juninho, Emerson.

    Lucio is injured.

    Cicinho I will give you.

And Dida is not good enough to be the starting keep anymore. Personally, I believe it should be JC.

    Hope this helps!

That is a truly competitive team. Short of Saviola, Coloccini and Sorin, that's quite a roster.

Incredible how a guy as talented as Juninho Pernambucano could not manage to be a first-stringer throughout his career with the NT. In a way, if you're not a top-flight superstar in midfield, it must suck to be brazilian.
