    Korean football is declining.
First of all, you haven't beat any Asian football powers in official games since 2000.

Korea 2-1 Iran - 2000 Asian Cup Quarterfinals<<<--last time you beat Asian powers
    ---------------------------------------
Korea 1-2 Saudi Arabia - 2000 Asian Cup Semifinals
Korea 0-0 Japan - 2003 East Asian Cup
Korea 3-4 Iran - 2004 Asian Cup Quarterfinals
Korea 0-2 Saudi Arabia - 2006 World Cup Qualifier
Korea 0-1 Saudi Arabia - 2006 World Cup Qualifier
Korea 0-1 Japan - 2005 East Asian Cup
Korea 1-1 Iran - 2007 Asian Cup Qualifier
Korea 0-2 Iran - 2007 Asian Cup Qualifier
Korea 1-1 Saudi Arabia - 2007 Asian Cup Group Stage
Korea 0-0 Iran - 2007 Asian Cup Quarterfinals
    Korea 0-0 Japan - 2007 Asian Cup 3rd Place Play-off

    11 Games played - 0 Wins, 5 Draws, 6 Losses

Gahanal>>When's Osim world class manager? So far all u guys done is lost to Korea (again) and we didnt even got our best player

    1. Korea were totally outplayed by Japan and managed to draw.
    2. Plus Japan were missing at least 4 key players who helped Japan beat Cameroon or Switzerland A team. Tulio (2006 J-League MVP), Okubo, Matsui, Inamoto.

Anywas, here are the stats of the Japan-Korea game.
    Face the truth, Koreans.

He's heading any such comments off at the pass. Better to be proactive around here.

Oh, and nice work by you in conveniently ignoring Korea beating Japan on PKs in the third-place playoff. You would have better luck shaping your post around what Japan has done rather what Korea hasn't done.

Korea is definitely better than Japan.
Japan is definitely more inferior than Japan.

Comparison between Korea and Japan is totally a joke.

Japan lost to Korea in Asian Cup 2007 with 10 men Korea.
Korea can even beat Japan with 9 men on the field.

Korea played better football than Japan in WC 1998.
Korea played better football than Japan in WC 2002.
Korea played better football than Japan in WC 2006.

Only halfwits claim that Japan is the rival of Korea.

    Haha. Hey Korean.
Since the creation of J-League, Japan have won Asian Cup 3times and became Runners-up in Confederations Cup.
Have you guys done anything except for the cheating in 2002?

    Hey, Nip!
World Cup is much bigger event than Asian Cup and Confederation, man!
World Cup is the biggest football tournament with numerous sponsors.
What makes you think cheesy conferation cup and cheesy Asian Cup can match up with World Cup?

No wonder Japan can't beat Korea in football!!!!!!:D

I still can't understand why Japan couldn't beat with 10 Korean players on the field.

I am sure 9 or even 8 Korean players versus 11 Japanese players would be fair enough.

hey here's a question to all those that think Korea is better.

    DO YOU HAVE DOWN SYNDROME?

Seriously, if right now, if Japan and Korea had a home-&-away tie. In Seoul and Saitama Stadium, Japan would win.

Hopefully, that'll happen in round four of WC qualifying.

Then I can come back and say, I told you so.

The saddest thing about Korea NT is that Lee Dong Gook or Cho Jae Jin is their best striker.

Lee has really failed in England and hasn't scored any goals.
Even 19-year-old Morimoto scored some goals in Serie A but he still has a long way to be called up by Japan NT.

Cho Jae Jin is quite average in J-League.

Have to say Japan is better.
South Korea was luckiest team in the tournament.
Just remember they recorded only one win (against 1-0 Indonesia).

Sad Japan soccer and you "world class" Osim coach cant even beat Korea in AC, we're man down. Osim says Japan player need more phsical strong and that match showed it. Korea push Japan player like they was little boy

pfft:cool: i don't see any difference with Korea's allegedly advantage with home refereeing in WC 2002 than what I saw with the host nations in France 98, UK 96, Sweden 92, USA 94, Portugal 2004, Netherlands/Belgium 2000 etc... with 40 000+ screaming the ears off the referee, i guess in most cases the referee tends to let the home team get the call in dubious situations. no exceptions.

lol, ur comments are always so well-put ganahal :p

Although im not 100 % neutral, i like both teams alot. and what Korea did 6, 10 or 20 years ago doesn't matter at all now.

Korea were far better than Japan in 2002, and were probably better both before and after that tournament.

but now, in 2007, I think of Japan as a much more exciting NT than Korea. Japan got lots of potential with many quality players coming through the ranks. Of course Japan still has some major problems that's needed to take care of before they can call themselves a true top team, but the same goes for Korea.

Come on, do u really think Korea today is the same as Korea in 2002? They've lost key players like Hong and Yoo and as far as i can see they haven't really replaced them yet. Choi and Kim in defence is far from world-class, and they don't have a natural goalscorer despite "big" names as Lee, Cho and Ahn.Their midfield is great with Kim Nam Il, Lee Chun soo and Park Ji Sung though. Korea might have the best player in Asia in Park Ji Sung, but besides him I don't really see where Japan can't match them. But that's just my opinion, and to be fair I haven't seen korean football as much as japanese football the last few years :)

Japan had ref bias during the AC, Australia then Korea. You still lost even with 2 extra men.

I think Osim had Japan playing well, better than Korea but if you don't capitalize on that than it's waste.

thats just given. Japan didnt got any1 match Hong Myung Bo or Yoo Sang Chul, those 2 is specal player

And young star Park Ji Sung, Lee Young Pyo and less degree Seol Ki Hyeon put Korea over

Thats not even include Lee Woon Jae whose best goalie Asia. Plus that time Ahn Jung Hwan was top of his game.

yes Japan is more excite because Korea's frigin bore. We both got same probem nobody can slam ball in net. I dunno when that problems is solve because theirs nobody whose look like their take over for Lee Dong Gook in Korea and Japans never got true striker whose danger with foot and in air, they didnt got hight

But Korea team got physical strong that Japan still dont got and we're much tougher than Japan mental game. Its well knowed Japan is weak late games and thats y Japan gaved up 3 goals Australia late and y Japan dont win close game to Korea.

I agreed your analsis but even if Japan is even skill Korea, we're still much strong and tougher team. We're strong enough put physacal pressure on top Europe team and Japan cant say that

gimme a frigin break, Japan NT is 1 year from bichslap by koalas gived up 3 goals in last minute of game, u barely tie Croatia which is population 4 million people, u got tool by fatazz Ronaldo whose guy that could barely run.

U cant even beat Korea AC when we dont got Park Ji Sung whose best player in Asia, Lee Young Pyo whose best back Asia and Seol Ki Hyeon whose great air thread on your D and you guys was even man up

Whats happen between now and than made u think u got chance against Korea? O yea, world class coach gotta quit

So I really dunno where u come up with this crap

    korea's better by a mile

it's so clearly obvious that japanese soccer skills are inferior to korea's skills, while i do think both teams are great, japan's soccer is just plain crap, and this ain't biased at all

and i think imachi was joking when he asked this question
