I'm not available to get out to watch the first round, so I was wondering if anyone knew either where any of the matches are on TV, or if any are going to be streamed online... ADTHE hasn't yet updated, and nothing seems to be on Justin.tv... Are there any avenues I am missing? FSC doesn't appear to even be covering the day's events. I might need a 12 step program for my soccer addiction, but considering that this is the oldest consectutively awarded trophy in American sports, I for one would like to see a match or two, or maybe even the results.
www.usopencup.com They also have a Twitter feed, which is probably your best bet. There are four games tonight on USLLive.com, apparently: Richmond Kickers (USL2) at Carolina RailHawks (USL1) 7pm ET Pittsburgh Riverhounds (USL2) at Rochester Rhinos (USL1) 7pm ET Atlanta FC (USASA-Ga.) at Charleston Battery (USL1) 7:30pm ET Mississippi Brilla FC (PDL) at Austin Aztex (USL1) 8:30pm ET
they will all be archived but usllive has been taking about 12 hours before they are available. Still should be a pretty good alternative. as Ken pointed out, www.usopencup.com will have a live blog updating scores from the tournament. the guys that run that website are doing a great service for fans of the tournament, we know the USSF doesnt do much.
We'll have all you need to follow the first round tonight. We'll have: a live blog to chat in another live blog with just the twitter feed (so the chat blog doesn't clutter up too much, since there will be about 7 or 8 going at once.) A full scoreboard with updates on all of the games BTW, the slate is down to 15 tonight, Ocean City and CP Baltimore has been put off until tomorrow due to a flooded field. I guess they got some pretty heavy rain in the OC last night.
Just found this thread. My thoughts: I think FSC should broadcast at least a few of the games, not just the final like they did last year. Nevertheless I will check up on USOPENCUP.com, maybe Twitter. Thanks!
That would be really cool. Have FSC broadcast one game from every round, maybe both semifinals, in addition to the final. It would also help drive up the interest in this tournament towards the level it should be, at least among the soccer fans (i.e. those who watch FSC on a regular basis). And it's not like FSC is broadcasting anything else those evenings.
