The good news. . . my flight got out of Chicago this morning. The bad news, it was too far behind schedule to make the connection in San Francisco to head to Seoul Incheon and head to the Olympics. The good news. . . I'm rebooked on the same flight to ICN tomorrow and won't miss too much. Plus, if you're going to be stranded somewhere, San Francisco's a pretty good option. The bad news. . . I'm not going to make our 1st event tomorrow night, the men's luge. That's the event that began this madness back in 2002 in Salt Lake City.
At Inchon to head home from the Olympics now. Will have a recap post with pix soon. Bunge, since you're going to Kintyre, I just had a stray travel thought on a newsletter I've found helpful in Scotland. Www.walkinghighlands.co.uk
Turns out Kim Jung Un sent me home with a sleeper bug. Just got home from the doc and it's flu, even though I got the shot. Sorry, report & photos are going to wait a couple of days.
Sitting in lovely O'Hare waiting to fly to a Committee Meeting in San Diego. ....yes, I went to Great American Bagel.
Wife's running schedule has me all over the place this year. Nov (2017): Louisville Dec (2017): Biloxi, MS January: NOLA and Baton Rouge April: Denver and Grand Junction, CO July: UP, MI Sep: Saint Louis Nov: Nashville Oh yeah, in 2 weeks I'm going to Bolingbrook
Just landed in San Diego. Awesome traffic, dead stop, almost as nice of a view as the Stevenson. That is all I have at the moment.
That’s great, xtomx, but I think I speak for all of us when I say ‘I’d like to hear more about Bolingbrook, please’.
Although I am enjoying my second giant chalice of Scotch Ale for $6.00, with Jesenia, the smokin' hot bartender. Don't see that in froggin' Bolingbrook. Edit: the beer is more beautiful.
"It's a beautiful suburb uniquely located in both Will and DuPage counties. Currently it holds the record for the 17th largest incorporated place in IL...Also home to notable people such as...Drew Peterson, former Bolingbrook police sergeant, suspected in the disappearance of his fourth wife and convicted of drowning his third wife."
Tough to find a decent Scotch Ale on draft in Bolingbrook, I'll give you that Christ that's tragically hilarious. I laughed out loud after reading this and then, a few seconds later (says a lot about me, I know) thought, 'oh damn, yeah, at least two people died' and felt sad and bad about myself (although that's passed already).
My conference ended early for the day. The seals of La Jolla. It is "pupping" season, but people still can mill on the beach with the seals. One douche bag (not me) was too busy texting and stepped on a bull seal. It growled and the asshole guy just kept walking and texting. I really wish the seal would have bit him.
Now, I am in Tijuana. I am not staying in Tijuana, as there is a one-two hour line to get back across the border. They are doing Trump's "extreme vetting" on me. Normally, someone would have to buy me drinks first (actually, everyone was quite pleasant and professional...but slow).
