Sorry if I butchered his last name. Any word on this guy. Last I remember he was headed to a German lower division.
I asked that question earlier on this thread: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2421 Elninho answered the same reply as BuffaloSoldier
There's at least one site out there that still has him at Leverkusen: http://www.soccerbase.com/footballlive/?MIval=teams2&teamid=468 I guess he could still be on their books, collecting on his contract, but retired? Of course, they also have his nationality as Spanish, so that makes you wonder. Anyhow, his coaching stint began at California Baptist University, as an assistant under Mike Sutherland. But Cal Baptist has changed head coaches this year, so Joey may not be there anymore.
Is this the same Joey D that Mooch Myernik, former Dick in Charge of the Rapids, felt like should start of Chris Henderson? The player that Chris sat for on many instances as Joey showed his stuff on the left flank? The player whop made Henderson expendable so we could pick up Matt McKeon? I am really glad Henderson is back in Denver, and Joey and Mooch are somewhere else. The scary part is Mooch is on the NATS staff. If we are not careful we could see Tahj Jakins, Joey D, Jason Boyce and Chris Martinez with NATS tryouts.
yeah, don't want Mooch on the Nats staff especially after the horrible job he did scouting Portugal and helping prepare the team for that game.
I don't wan't to question the man's credentials but I'm not comfortable with someone called "Mooch" being involved with the national team.
Mooch just took a U-23 US team to England and the team won all 4 matches against Bolton, Crewe, Huddersfield, and ManU reserves/scrubs.
Martinez has a cap, doesn't he? I seem to recall him playing in a friendly against Paraguay pre-WC98.
