From Wikipedia re: JJ Koval, just noticed it... After spending the 2016 season with the Sacramento Republic, Koval announced his retirement from professional soccer on December 21, 2016 to pursue a career in dentistry.
Someone told JJ that to get some creative soccer out of him was "like pulling teeth". At that point it all made sense.
I'm talking mostly about being a professional MLS. Every player , coach and people who know him that I have talked to told me the same thing. I doubt he will get a shot anytime soon and there are only so many available jobs and even fewer who know about him. Having said that, I'm glad that Ian is doing well as he is a great guy.
You're talking about MLS head coach. Because he's coached MLS level for a long time. I don't think he's going to be an MLS head coach all that soon either because he just started his new job. But Reno has been a fun team to watch and they've turned things around and also gotten results. So, if he continues to do as well as he has (both results and good development of Quakes players loaned there), there's no reason he won't continue to progress in this career as a professional team coach. I hope Reno continues to do well and he stays there several seasons.
Interesting. I'm guessing he's hoping another MLS team picks him up? I don't think he wants to go back to Argentina yet if he can help it. Don't think he's ready to retire.
steven beitashour gets pancreas surgery after bad hit in Open Cup game Remember people thinking that wasn't a red on Fisher? pic.twitter.com/ptJUOzHcri— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) June 30, 2017
Found a video -- that was serious foul play and a terrible tackle. Fisher should be suspended: http://www.tvasports.ca/2017/06/27/kyle-fisher-met-brutalement-en-echec-son-rival
OMG, how was that not a Red. That wasn't just reckless, that body block was pretty much VC. Thanks for finding that video, I had only read about the incident. But since it's Canadian Cup and the tournament is over, I assume that Canada won't take any further action against Kyle Fisher. How long does it take to recover from what I assume is a lacerated pancreas?
Don't know -- but the pancreas does not like to be messed with (it's located deep in the body, and takes a damn big incision to get to). My brother had surgery to remove an insulinoma on his pancreas and never really did recover fully (he suffered from gastroparesis until he died a couple of years ago of cancer, about 15 years later.)
Sorry to hear that about your brother. Hubby says that internal organ like pancreas could take minimum 2 months , and up to 6 months to heal. Could ruin Beita's international aspirations...
IMO, that's the sort of challenge that should result in a suspension of 2 games more than the victim is out, plus a big fine. If it's a season ender, then the perp is season ended too...+2. I think with pancreas injuries, you'd also worry quite a bit about the acute period. If the pancreas starts leaking digestive enzymes or you get pancreatitis, those both can be very dangerous.

I was about to go check the time stamps. It sure seems like the fewest posts between a flip of opinion that we've seen though.
