It's not just him though. I read a stat that the only Barca player to score an away CL goal since 2016 was Messi.
No need to tell us you wouldn't have guessed that. You got any idea what the odds are of guessing the figure 1,113 days out of the blue, when your memory can only give you certainty for about 150 days on the matter?
forget that, I'll be supporting the spuds tomorrow. I love seeing them struggle, showing the world that they had a once in a lifetime influx of homegrown talent that is not repeatable and that all their hypocritical posturing over being 'mes que un club' is nothing but BS.

Joe Cole retires at 37. The Tampa Bay Rowdies huh? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...East-End-prodigy-produced-moments-wonder.html
I saw the Cole/Adu Rowdies a couple of years ago, when both the Rowdies and Indy Eleven were still in the NASL. Cole was bog slow even then, and as a result was not clearly superior to the decidedly minor league competition (Indy was good that year, but still very much lower level). I didn't see him this year, when both the Rowdies and Indy were in the USL, but I can't imagine that he was any good.
I love that 1) Gerrard claimed Cole was as talented as Messi 2) Cole got a red card in his first Liverpool game 3) Scored a total of 5 goals in the 2 years he was actively on Liverpool (1 year of loan) 4) Looked like he had run a marathon 5 minutes into a game 5) Alternatively looked like he had smoked a pack of cigarettes in the tunnel before kick off. 90K a week! But we got him on a free transfer! compared to Boring James Milner who we also got on a free.
I think another good comparison would even be to Maxi Rodrigues. Another tricky wide player who came in on a free. However, one showed heaps of grit and drive to work after his hard start... the other went to France.

Yes. He said that things were miserable at that time and it was hard to shake. I didn't have to sign up for anything to read it.
Update on Enrique: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...-reveals-pictures-brain-tumour-treatment.html
Glad he is in good spirits. I've been tracking this story in part because I had a malignant brain tumor removed as well. Cancer doesn't care how famous you are or how strong your footballing skills are.
