I am confident that Dortmund will have a much better season than last year. I would say we will finnish third this season and play in Champions League next year
Hitzfield: Dortmund and Leverkusen could be in the title race. FC Bayern, Werder Bremen, Hamburger SV and Schalke 04 have to be on the short-list. But maybe Borussia Dortmund will also be in with a shout. After all, they have a great new strike force in Frei and Valdez. Adding Tinga will help with our quest for the top five. We needed a tough, hungry, ball-winner like him against Bayern. That's basically where they beat us. Midfield.
Third and the Champions League? You're getting ahead of yourself, my friend. Dortmund can expect a top-five finish - who is there aside from the Big 4 to challenge them - but the club are still a year, if not two, away from challenging for a Champions League spot. I think BVB have a strong squad and will be exciting to watch - I had certainly tabbed them to do more against Bayern - but the Bavarians, Bremen and Schalke are too strong for Dortmund to muscle into the top three. HSV is a wild card, and Nuremberg look strong (after the first week, mind you), so yeah, Europe is probably in the cards for Dortmund, but not the lucrative CL. And what about a nice cup run? CL & Schalke Finishing Ahead Of Us: Yeah. I think it's a year too soon to think CL, but I don't think Schalke will be keeping us out. I'll scream we can do it as a fan, but realistically, I think we are about a year and a strong central defender away from that point. Another thing I thought we were missing was a strong ball-winner in midfield, but the signing of Tinga should take care of that. Right now, I think the top three in the Bundesliga at the end will be Bremen, Bayern and Leverkusen. Before the season, I was saying HSV, but I was not too impressed with HSV or Schalke both at home in week one giving away points to teams who will either be in the relegation battle or not far from it. I know it was the first week, but both teams showed problems they will have the entire season. I also think if we can find some consistency, we can finish ahead of both of them. Schalke reminds me of the pre-2004 Boston Red Sox. They make all the moves, spend all the money and still they can find a way to blow it. Yeah, after 86 years, the Red Sox finally won it. Schalke is only on year 50 of their 86 years. They have another 36 to go........ FCN: FCN is one of those clubs who consistently plays above their talent level. They will do well if they can avoid the injury bug. I think only injuries prevented them from finishing ahead of us last season. We compare favorably to them, but we need to find the consistency they have under Hans Meyer. FCN might not "win" all the time, but they are consistently in matches. They are rarely run off the pitch or just beaten down like we were in Munich last week. However, I do think they'll be beaten down by Bremen and Bayern. But, they will beat the teams they need to beat as they did in Stuttgart last week. I don't think even they had that one down as a win. We've had a problem beating the teams we need to beat over the past three seasons. Tomorrow's match against Mainz will show us where we are there. We need these three points. German Cup Run: We seem to be snakebitten in the German Cup. We're like Schalke there. We always find a way to blow it. This would be a good season to change that. But I can't say that we will........

Between place 7 and 9 I say. Main reason: No creative midfield. I don`t rate Pienaar one bit, Sahin is talented but does not cut it yet and Kringe is way to inconsistent. I have to admit that I don´t know nothing about Paulo César Fonseca do Nascimento, nicknamed Tinga, though. Maybe he is the new Rosicky, but that would be to good to be true for that little money we spend on him. That said, I like our forwards and the defense line is Bundesliga top 5 at the least.

You say nothing about Tinga because you say you admit you know nothing about him, but in the sentence before you say we have no creative midfield and you obviously spoke without knowing what you're talking about. Pienaar isn't our problem. He's played well. I've seen more chances in our first two matches than I saw in many matches last season. Our problem is, these chances aren't being converted by the strikers. BTW, Tinga is more of a "ballwinner" in midfield. He's no "creator." Our forwards have been the problem so far. Plus, the inexperience of the defenders on the pitch cost us three points against Mainz. Our defense isn't quite BL top 5. We were sixth last season and we made no improvements to speak of.
i actually think they'll be in around the 5th-10th postion region....dey r a youthfull side with inexperience and in truth not that stong..but sayin that i really want them to do well...dey hav some really good youngsters!
We agree. I think only if the entire team picks up on Tinga's enthusiasm, so we have a chance at 5th or higher.
