    Huh? I realize answers to this question are just opinions. However, there's one thing for certain, the quality of play in the 30's-50's was just awful. Watch videos from that era and you'll see that it was a very slow moving game, lots of walking, and terrible, terrible goalkeeping.

    The 80s and early 90s are severly overrated. Those times were plagued by defensive football and few goals per game. And their was no backpass rule, which was severly abused. Most notably by Denmark at the 1992 Euros.
