No Vancouver dude. Our provincial government refused to endorse the bid or give any financial guarantees. Like Minneapolis or Chicago. Toronto, Montreal and Edmonton will host.
Bummer. Mexico City will be awesome though. I've never been. P.S. Who wants to go to Edmonton? Calgary I could see, but Edmonton?!
You ain't missing much. Your going for no other reason than to watch some crappy c rate group game. Montreal would be great if you're an East coaster. Did Seattle bid? I'd go there myself. Easy to get too for me.
Yeah, this has been posted before, but ******** ashur. United States (10 to be selected) Atlanta Baltimore Boston Cincinnati Dallas Denver Houston Kansas City Los Angeles Miami Nashville New York/New Jersey Orlando Philadelphia San Francisco Seattle Washington, D.C. Mexico Guadalajara Mexico City Monterrey Canada Edmonton Montreal Toronto
Not sure when they'll chose the 10, but out of that USA list the only interests I have are Denver (because I live here), Boston, LA, Miami, Seattle, Nashville, and San Fran.
I never posted anything about this previously, so go ******** yourself, Chaz. In any regard, here is the list of cities likely to host the WC in 2026 and the possible venues they'll play in... www.espn.com/soccer/fifa-world-cup/4/blog/post/3523349/2026-world-cup-bid-won-by-us-mexico-and-canada-which-venues-could-host-games
I think ESPN made a mistake. I don't think they've officially been chosen yet? EDIT: that's just speculation from ESPN. "Here is a list of the likely venues."
Thank god they pushed this over the line. Hoping I still live in the Bay Area by then. It'll be nice to live near a host city so that I can blow all of my money on tickets and not have to worry about other expenses.
As an east coaster, I'd happily drive/attend games in Philly, NJ, Boston, Toronto and Obviously Bmore and DC. I may book one West or Mexico trip.
A look at what happened at Sporting Lisbon and the impact it could have in terms of transfers to Prem clubs www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11403673/sporting-lisbon-in-crisis-what-could-it-mean-for-premier-league-clubs
PSG have been cleared of breaching FFP rules (but still need to sell 60mil in players). www.bbc.com/sport/football/44474415
T That's including the 167mil for Mbappe? Selling Draxler and Pastore should be easy. Meunier is not happy either there so I assume he can go. We get Marco Verratti.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that they'll have a Los Angeles venue. The Rose Bowl and Colosseum are pretty old now and both soccer-specific venues (the StubHub Center and Banc of California Stadium) are only 20k+ capacity, so they'll almost certainly use the new 100k NFL stadium they're building in Inglewood.
Not sure what Guedes's current valuation is at (especially since it could shoot up during the WC), but he's an asset that could go a long way towards securing the 60mil they need. It really shouldn't be too difficult for them, I imagine with all the players they have at their disposal. We should be all over Guedes also truth be told. A Dalot, Guedes right flank for the long term sounds great to me.
I would bet that 3 out of Kansas City, Nashville, Cincinatti, and the Bay Area will certainly host. Dallas can hardly get their own fans to commit to games. Santa Clara is always a sell out, and the other 3 cities have incredible atmospheres during national team games.
The story of Dele Alli is pretty interesting and even if it does not excuse his petulant/aggressive side, it definitely explains it in a very real way. He really could have been another Morrison, if he hadn't been taken in and raised by the family of his best friend, when he was a kid. The similarities between the 2 are pretty uncanny. Even more so when you think that Morrison right now really should be a star in the game and one of England's leading figures going into the WC, if he hadn't pissed it all away...
I don't really buy this outlook. 98% of players from South America & Africa come from 3rd world backgrounds with unconventional home lives. And 98% of them don't act like cvnts. We all hate Suarez & Costa, but those are the only two I can think of who act that way on the pitch with that sort of background.
I'm talking more specifically to that constant chip he appears to be carrying on his shoulder, like he's constantly got something to prove (and thus explains his behavior, not that it excuses it once again). And as the docu about him showed, it's something he's had since he was kid, caused by a pretty bad upbringing and that only was exacerbated after he left his family and was taken in to live in a completely different socio economical environment. And furthermore, comparing Alli to Costa and especially Suarez is out of bounds. Alli is no saint and does exhibit cuntish/childish behavior (especially when provoked), but he's does not appear to be a straight bad guy in Costa and especially Suarez's vein.
Apparently Griezmann's #LaDecision is a real thing (score originality points for him!) and he will announce his destination at 2pm ET.
I hope he chooses Barca and they decide not to sign him because of this promotion bullshit he is doing. Its disgraceful to his current club and ridiculously egotistical.
