On one hand, it’s hard to blame him.

On the other, if you’re really good enough you’ll make tons of money playing for a top European team. How rich do you need to be?

You dont know his situation or who he has to take care of.

    If he's happy, he's happy.

Someone asked about Aguero and Silva?

Aguero isnt top 5 [strikers] yet. Im not sure if he's top 10 tbh.

Silva might be a little higher [in his position]. For attacking mids or players who have occupied that space on the field, Scholes, Lampard, Bergkamp, Rooney....

Here is the top midfielder assisters all time....

That's kinda my point. If you know how to spend your money right, making 6 million a year or 12 million a year, you should still be able to live well in retirement. I agree with him though.

I mean, I guess it all comes down to your priorities. If you look at football as just a job, then by all means go wherever is going to pay you the most.

But if you see it as a sport and have a drive to be the best and represent yourself and your country then China isn't the place to do it.

I think both Aguero and Silva are top 10 for their positions, but not top 5. Not yet.

On that topic, do folks think both would both make a top 50 all time PL player list?? (not a specific position)

Or would they be more a top 100 situation?

I think so. So does the independant.... their top 25

    http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...players-ranked-jack-pitt-brooke-a7886646.html

The following is one I found after googling it...

    https://thekingmaker.me/100-best-premier-league-players-ever/

    ---------

If were honest, Aguero is better than Sheringham, Owen, Anelka, Tevez, Ian Wright, Fowler, Berbatov etc.

The only strikers above him are Ruud, Henry, Shearer and Cole off the top of my head.

I made a mistake in not specifically speaking on direct roles. Those guys were pure no. 9's like Aguero.

Rooney isnt a pure 9 in my opinion.

Like it or not we are witnessing a pretty special collection of players over at Citeh, with Aguero, Silva, and now KDB.

I'd say Aguero is easily in the top 10 with strikers. I'd have to think a lot harder with Silva and all the great midfielders that have graced the PL, but he is definitely in the equation.

Kane is out until April with ligament damage on his ankle.

Not that bad all things considered both for England, but also Spurs. He probably will get to finish the season and still has plenty of time to get ready for the WC...

Bayern who hold a 5-0 lead after the first leg are already ahead 0-1 in Turkey (Thiago). Not sitting back and very much taking the game to Besiktas so far. Monster work from Vidal btw, covering so much ground in midfield and not conceding anything either. Warrior.

Almost straight from kickoff, Bayern are 2 up, from a Besiktas own goal...

It's really telling (and sad at the same time) watching the urgency and intensity Bayern are playing with today, in an away game. One they are comfortably ahead and have qualification all wrapped up.
They just conceded, but they've very much been in charge of this game and don't appear to be resting on their laurels.

Barely 2mins in and Messi has already opeńed the score for Barca.

Good reaction from Chelsea, but a lightning quick counter from Barca sees Messi lay the ball to Dembele, who rifles it home to make it 2-0.

Chelsea going out just like us barring a miracle but they played more good stuff in that 45 minutes on the road against Barca then we managed over 180 minutes against Sevilla.

Barca got fortunate to say the least. Chelsea have been the better side because of Willian, he has cut open the opposition.

Marcos Alonso and Courtois gifting Messi the goal.
Cesc losing the ball in his own half.

Giroud is terrible sometimes and sometimes you're like this is not the same player. He has played bad balls to his wingers and his linkup has not been great.

Conte might have to change to a 4-4-2 to bring on Morata for Moses and push Azpicuelta to the right. Willian will move to the right and Hazard to the left but both come inside.

That's Chelsea's best chance I think. They can do it though, Barca have not defended that well but they are class on the ball. They keep it so well and so high up.

They'll probably go out but they really can hold their heads high in both games so far. It's clear they were set up to defend deep at the start, but as soon as they conceded that first goal, they adapted and became more adventurous, taking the game to Barca. Arguably deserved better than conceding a second, but it is what it is.
Hazard, predictably, has been good (can only imagine what he could do week in, week out if he went to Real). But Willian has been Chelsea's MVP over the course of both games. Simply superb and on that form, would gladly have him with us.
No matter what though, Chelsea can claim they really tried. Unlike us.

A classy, touching gesture from the Camp Nou crowd towards Andre Gomes.

Game/tie over, with another superb move and goal from Messi. Chelsea were very brave but it's not enough against that team.

This is how you press. Credit to Andre Gomes for that one.
