Thanks for the head's up. Spent an hour in line to pay my respects by ordering one final meal tonight (doors close tomorrow night).

    24-13-7. :)

Erik Karlsson's team-record thirteenth consecutive game with at least one point helped the San Jose Sharks defeat the visiting Los Angeles Kings. :D

Next up: the current home stand concludes against the Edmonton Oilers on NBC Sports California HD on Tuesday.

Lots of non-white people in line with me last night.

Considering your Russian heritage, I can see why you like that homage to Soviet-era architecture. :D

Well, perhaps meatloaf on wonder bread has more cross-cultural appeal than I suppose?

Turkey enchiladas were on the menu, along with spinach lasagna, and Thai-style chicken salad. I had the baked ham dinner, substituting German potato salad for mashed potatoes and gravy, and homemade cole slaw. Very tasty and large portions. $14.

You could get the turkey dinner, with stuffing and mashed potatoes and gravy, which would make a fine Thanksgiving. Ordered it during the week of Thanksgiving (last time I was there) as a warm-up to the big day.

Nothing wrong with comfort food served in large portions at a fair price in a non-ironic kitschy environment. Silicon Valley could use more of it.

You know what they say about opinions? Well mine is (after eating at both that location and one in SAC) is still that it's rather badly-prepared redneck soul-food with salt as the major seasoning. Just because over the years they've added a few bland items masquerading as ethnic food doesn't change my opinion. Oh, and if it isn't wonder bread, it's a simulacrum.

I AM being a bit unfair here - and I realize that it IS a place you can get a filling (if not particularly healthy) meal for a low-price (something that is not exactly common around here!), but I was always somewhat freaked out when I went to one of those places to be among (1) the youngest , and (2) the most 'ethnic-looking in line!

There is obviously a market for the type of food they serve, so, apparently they don't really need to attract a generationally and ethnically diverse clientele to be successful.

Thank goodness that my DirecTV HD Genie has five tuners to record with since three of my shows air tonight at the same time (The Orville on FOX, S.W.A.T. on CBS and the season premiere of Brooklyn Nine-Nine on NBC), as well as today's San Jose Sharks - Vegas Golden Knights game on NBC Sports California HD.

Even DirecTV's regular HD-DVR only has two such tuners.

I think I am probably the only person in Silicon Valley w/o a DVR...

I don't need it and wouldn't know how to use it if I had it. (My bathroom floor is not heated, either.)
