On NBC Sports Bay Area's The Happy Hour the other day, Ray Ratto surmised that without Joe Thornton, the Sharks will likely try to play a faster style. Whether they'll be successful with that or not remains to be seen, though. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G

Was hanging out for a while in a coffee bar today and there weren't many people in there, but one guy was talking fairly loudly on his phone, and it seemed to be about soccer. I heard "U18", and at one point I heard "discovery pick". Seemed he might be a scout or something. He told someone his name was Paul. Without even turning to look I thought, hmm, the only Paul I can think of offhand is Paul Bravo. Sure enough he later left as message for someone as Paul Bravo. Not sure what he's doing in the area. He's from here originally. Maybe he lives here? Or maybe he is here scouting someone. He also mentioned his "resume" to someone so maybe he is looking for a gig. (He can forget San Jose, he's not Euro!) Weird. I think he is out of his TD job for Colorado. Never saw him play but I understand he was very good for the Clash in their 1st year, and in fact scored more goals than Wynalda that year. And was traded to CO for Dominic Kinnear.

IIRC, he was also a Clash-killer for the Rapids. I recall a lot of goals from Bravo against San Jose after the trade.
