There are too many newspapers in England. Its like New York on steroids - every muppet has to write about something.

    Where is my mind?

Was at a bar last night and put some Pixies on the jukebox after reading Billy's post about Fight Club.

New? I'm hurt. Do you find it surprising that I'm a fan of Fincher or of the Pixies or both?

the problem is it is impossible to get a true random sample with current polling methods. Most surveys done today have inherent biases built in. Example: they use a telephone and CALL your HOUSE. Most people under the age of 35 and without kids and aren't a homeowner don't even have a land line anymore, but they still vote and overwhelmingly for Obama in the past 2 elections. Their opinions would not be reflected in any telephone survey. With a telephone survey, old people who watch Fox News will be overrepresented in your "random" sample. Ditto for any form of mail survey. Online surveys are even more useless when a random sample is needed. Door-to-door or street walking might be the only way to get a random sample these days, but even then many young women would never open the door to a stranger if they were home alone so there goes that.

Anyway, WTF happened to this thread? How'd we get on the election polls?

Great song. But for a jukebox pick I'd probably go with Gouge Away. Always reminds me of a rather....err....interesting night in undergrad.

defoe had an even more obvious dive but either the ref didn't see it or let it go.

Some high scoring today, shocked by the Norwish/Man Shitty scoreline especially.

that's exactly the excuse avb gave (or very close to it, though i think avb said he goes down after any kind of touch), so was he just repeating it or was that the commentators own opinion? (it's total nonsense btw)
niall quinn said it today, but made it clear that was avb's excuse.

edit: fs, bale on saying he didn't dive. if he's touched it's a foul...er.....no, it isn't, monkey boy.
what's worse is avb whinging and backing him instead of telling him to stop fkn diving!
