Anthony Martial is heading for a stand-off with Manchester United as the striker is determined to leave the club and José Mourinho is minded not to sell the Frenchman. Martial believes his career has stalled at United and the 22-year-old’s contract expires next summer. But United are expected to trigger a clause that allows for his terms to be extended for a year and so tie Martial down until summer 2020. By doing so, the club could fetch a far higher fee for the player. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jul/21/anthony-martial-standoff-future-manchester-united
guardian piece on teams below the top 6 and how hard it will be for them to move up, main focus on the Bitters. (yes, it is a slow day isn't it? ) https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...-failed-gamble-top-six-disappear-over-horizon
Imagine choosing to back Jose over one of the best young strikers in Europe. Doesn't look like a whole lot of fun over there right now.
I might be wrong, but I think the outline on the greensward in the upper right-hand corner is a copy of Northern Ireland.
Richarlison looked OK but the price is standard for EPL clubs.......expect to pay bucket loads for players
no wonder Manc fans are turning on this guy - doesn't exactly impress with his ambition does he? what a w@anker. Jose Mourinho refused to say whether he thinks his Manchester United squad are strong enough to compete for the Premier League title next season. United have brought in three players for about £68m this summer, and the 55-year-old told ESPN he would like to sign "two more players". Asked at a news conference if he was confident of challenging, Mourinho said: "I don't answer your question." The Portuguese stayed silent when pressed to explain why.
Some of it is Everton being desperate for a “big time” signing. Watford and Everton have a bad relationship after the Silva issues last season when they tried to poach him mid season - so I think there was a premium involved there as well. It’s a signing that of made by any of the top 6 would have supporters scratching their heads.
i'm interested in how fulham and wolves get on this year. they've both made some smart moves. i visited wolverhampton in 1997. there was a subway sandwich place there. it was sad. someone told me to keep my eyes peeled for robert plant who allegedly lived in the area. i didn't see him but i did see a guy who looked like Michael Stipe. saw a lot of guys that looked like michael stipe, actually....
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jul/25/newcastle-fans-ultimatum-rafael-benitez Newcy fans: If Rafa goes, we go too. Frustrations have once again begun to bubble on Tyneside and a new fan-led movement has emerged above the trenches at St. James’ Park: #IfRafaGoesWeGo. Spawned from of a toxic brew of anger and fear, Newcastle fans up and down the country have threatened to renounce their support for the club if Rafael Benítez is forced out this summer.
EPL clubs have plenty money this time round and good players are hard to find......and if the clubs don't speculate then they are almost as good as relegated tbh.....every club is making a 'club record signing '
