United are playing Villa on Friday? What's with that? Is this going to be a regular lark? Seems impossible, given all the European football commitments.........
Happens in France all the time. It is for the Champions League, it gives some teams an extra day to prepare plus Sky must be in favour of it.
Up to 10 Friday night games per season starting in 2016, according to this: http://www.theguardian.com/media/2014/dec/12/premier-league-friday-live-football-matches-tv
Got to feel sorry for the supporters in England who are held hostage to not being able to watch EVERY LFC match like here in the US. The higher they raise the fees and blackout matches, the pirating of feeds will continue and grow.
I still don't fully grasp this. In the UK, you can't watch a (live) game that's not on one of the major channels? Not even on a special package/PPV option?
True, most games are not televised on the official channels I.e sky, bt et al...its either you know someone with one of those european dishes (paella me thinks) or inner net stream (Watching the whole game on lfc tv after 90 mins is up is not a substitute for watching it live)
Not really. It should be sufficient to see your team 15 or 20 times a year. What is more rare is (generally) held as the more precious.
aye - and with alarm clock middle of the night wake-ups from electric rabbit jabbers, so that we don't miss the next scheduled statement of each fatuous manager-mouthpiece............
It's to do with protecting the likely attendance of local lower division saturday afternoon games. It's pretty simple and obvious, really - if Chelsea are playing Man Utd at 3pm Saturday on TV there'll be a lesser gate likely at Brentford vs Maccelsfield.
I know you do. So do I, but (my point is that philosophically) I was happy enough with it when I couldn't see them all 20 years ago. I would see all the highlights in packages, and that was enough then. But who knows - maybe we can't go back to that having gorged for so long....
It is if the game is on in your mornign and you'll see it before crossing paths with anyone who knows a result.
I heartily disagree - there is something about watching it "live" that does not compare with watching it recorded, even an hour or so after it's been played...(at least for me...)
Is that a thing? I watch every minute. I couldn't used to do that, not too long ago. I'm never going back. I don't care if it means finding some stream months after the match was played and I already have known the result. I still have to see the 2nd leg in Europa League from last season. And it's on my DVR and I will watch it. Never going back...
Watching it live just has that extra bit of Excitement, that je ne sais quoi...watching events unravel before your eyes...don't get me wrong, I still want to watch highlights/lowlights but the romance is gone
