Yes, yes it is. Looking at our upcoming schedule: New England - Jameson Night is always winnable @ Dallas - Not good odds Seattle - Home, but Seattle is a good team, not liking our chances Dallas - Could be winnable @ RBNY - Hard to project out that far but possibly winnable @ LA - Loss San Jose - We should win this one So if we don't win this week 20 is likely and 23 is not out of the question.
Not to derail, but what is this Jameson Night you speak of? @JasonMa I mean me and my buddies drink Jameson via a straw from the bottle hung around our neck.
I need to update this with the results since I wrote it (no losses) but here you go: http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2010/09/history-of-jamesons-night.html Short version, ever since it worked in 2002 and 2003, Rapids home games against the Revs are Jameson Night at the SG tailgate and the team has never lost to the Revs at home since then.
Multi rep if I could. I mean the best traditions are the ones that arrive outta no where. Where very little planning was taken but what sticks to the wall is the best.
"I'm not normally a superstitious person, but after going 2-0 with 9 for and 3 against over our first two Jameson's Nights, it was clear to us that keeping up tradition would be worth every blown chunk." Heh. Let's hope the chunks are blown extra-hard on Saturday, I don't think anyone (aside from, of course, RSL fans) wants to see RSL's record matched or exceeded. At least not by a club as innocuously non-evil as the Rapids (no offense)...
So, the "Goaless Ties Start" Streak ended at 3 today (following the 0-2 home loss to NE), while the "Goaless Start" Streak continue into 4. Again, is that a recood of some sorts?
On the road against a MAD Dallas team too? Yikes, this could be ugly. At least Pablo won't have to witness it from the sideline, with his ejection this weekend. Then again, him being gone may mean improvement for the Rapids.
One more now to beat RSL's record of 18 winless! Could have sworn the Quakes were on track for that, but we're just boring bad. Nothing beats having a guy who looks like a Don Quixote villain leading your team into infamy... (Edit: RSL streak was 18, not 19.)
Longest Winless Records in: W-L-T era: RSL, 18 Games (2005-08-10 - 2006-05-06) http://aragon.ws/soccerdb/team/stats.php?teamId=888&teamLeagueId=0&year=0&matches=0&result=0 SO era: NYRB, 19 Games (1999-05-22 - 1999-09-05, SOs counted as Ties) http://aragon.ws/soccerdb/team/stats.php?teamId=400&teamLeagueId=0&year=0&matches=0&result=0
Colorado is not worse than the 1999 MetroStars, it would be cosmically wrong for them to claim that streak as well. But who said soccer is fair?
You meant Caffeine? (Otherwise, the 4-0 win would have been forfeited as a 0-3 loss instead...) Maybe it was the absence of the coach?
Bring this back from the dead. Union currently sit at 14 straight without a win. Next 5 games are against LA, Red Bull, DC, Houston, & Colorado. So there's a good chance they could at least tie the record.
At 0W-8L-2T, Colorado 2019 should feature among the worst ever winless start to a season? Probably only "second" to the 9-straight opening loss by TFC in 2012 as below: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_Soccer_records_and_statistics#Losing_streaks
