Ross County Falkirk Dundee Partick Thistle Hamilton Academical Livingston Greenock Morton Raith Rovers Ayr United Queen of the South If you want in - post in the thread and I'll do the draw as soon as we have 10 guys or a 2 day break.
I'm already a Queen of the South fan (and shareholder), can I have them? I've also had a picture in the matchday program of me wearing a QoS jersey in front of Safeco Field in Seattle (part of their QoS on holiday series). This is me in Tenerife in 2007. I went to a CD Tenerife game and they are blue and white so I wore my QoS jersey.
After trying, and being disappointed with, MyFC I was still interested in the idea of "owning" part of a club. I was already a QoS fan and I noticed they sold shares to the fans. They only sell them in blocks of 10 though, so I got some other Colorado Rapids fans who were interested to chip in and we bought a block of 10 shares. Really all it gets us is a copy of the annual report, but its still kind of cool.
If you can come up with $3 million, I can hook you up with a club QoS - need to check out the site. I bought some Juve stock a while back. I hope I get an annual report
If you are really interested in owning a club.....methinks Rangers might be available in the near future. My read on the current (fairly new) owner's plan was..... 1. buy the team for a pound 2. take on the liability for the tax case/debt 3. Work to convince HMRC that they should forgive the debt (using one or two approaches a) that was the old owners, not us so don't hurt us....b) making us pay that 50 million will bankrupt/destroy Rangers and you could not do that to the public). 4. If 3 does not work....then bail out, declare the club insolvent and run back to your castle. given the statements today about how HMRC is dealing with Portsmouth....I think #3 is destined to fail: While this has nothing, directly, to do with Rangers, the sterness of the statement and the general nature of it would seem to be a strong warning to all clubs who have used the tax man's money to, either, attract players or balance their books. My friends/family who are Rangers supporters have always been clinging to the hope of "reasonable" or "fair" settlement agreement with HMRC.....this would indicate that they only reasonable or fair thing, in the eyes of HMRC, is full payment of monies owed.
Okay so i've got the plan to make it more interesting, but we only have 3 interested so far. Step up.
i think that bigsoccer just has too many forums. a new subforum should be created that includes scotland, ireland, wales, and northern ireland. not that these other countries have loads of posters, but they at least have posters who like the national teams. could bring in some more people and at least make the nonsense section a bit more active.
When I was moderator we had Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales (SNIW) but BS decided to reorganise the boards.
The multiple reorganizations sure didn't help things. For a while we were just stuck in "other countries" or something like that.
