Fortunately our 3 best CBs* all play for the same club...Boateng, Hummels & Süle...as does their RB (Kimmich). And given Neuer's injury, ter Stegen has been getting PT for the NT all year. So the cohesion should be really strong (at least for a NT) whether Boateng & Neuer suffer setbacks or if they are both ready for the start of the tourney.

*at least of the ones who got picked by Jogi for the provisional squad. As Vogt is actually our 3rd best CB, ahead of Süle, but he hasn't been integrated by Löw.

South Korea will have to play at their best to make it out of this group. Son and the attacking line up should be able to handle maximizing opportunities, but it's the defense that I'm concerned about with the SK squad.

Anything can happen in these great games of the World Cup. I think people are writing off SK too fast...you just never know...

I fear that Saudi-Arabia pretty much showed yesterday what teams from Asia are capable of. Sorry dude, true story.

It's too early to judge. You beter judge after each Asian team played at least one game. Saudi Arabia doesn't reflect Asian Top level.

It ain't too fast. We are that weak at this point. This ain't 2002 nor 2010, not even 1994.

Anything can happen in football but that only applies to when a team has some quality to compete against worlds's elite.

If Janne would had taken Benny as the first keeper it might had been a different story.

Of course this isn't the same squad dynamically as the previous squads, but that doesn't mean that the current squad isn't capable of advancing.

Not much team spirit there bud... we're in tough group, but that doesn't mean it's impossible. Win or lose, I just hope SK plays at the level we know they can play at, which is very much so world class. Like I've said, we have the striking power, a capable midfield, but it's the defense that lacks.

1000 times this, people dont get that the argument of "but you qualify from CONCACAF" goes out of the window when you always make it to the 16.

TBH Sweden should have never lost that match vs Germany. Ref gave a questionable amount of added time during that match. Today would have been a much more relaxed game for me if that match had ended in a draw. Not only did we get destroyed, we didn't get to rest key players and are now in a terrible position moving forward, all because of that last minute goal by Germany.

Of course ! Mexico went through. They always do ! And hey, you were wrong too ... Germany are out.

Seriously though, guess I was half right. Good job going through. I thought you'd be the odd man out.

The payout was 7-1 at least too. Sometimes wild calls in sports are worth it...
