Truthfully, this is as much about dropping a guy in who's both new to the team and has been off from soccer a couple of months. How many of our Yanks go abroad and get hurt within the first couple of weeks training? The intensity and speed of play are something that takes time to adapt. He's going into a team that's just on a midseason break, not preseason training. Big difference.
Yes it does...my i feel sick after reading this.....layoff Chandler he is our guy, he was just training ....im unsubscribing to this thread. It's too depressing.
Now that the shock of this has worn off, some, let's look to the future. Presuming OG can come back 100 percent and is ready in six months, wouldn't that put him able to come back this summer and be ready for Nurnberg's preseason training? Here's hoping they still want to buy him and don't try and low ball LAG because Omar's hurt.
I think this is the best possible outcome. Who wants to have a trial in Nuremburg? AMIRITE???? Try the veal.
The second a saw Gonzalez was looking for a loan, I just got a bad feeling about the whole situation. I wasn't expecting something this bad though. Wish him the best in his recovery.
lol this took me a second.... so that means we've had a Zimmerman Note and a Nuremburg Trial... if we any Yanks abroad in Japan (Mobi Fehr?) they should probably stay out of Hiroshima....
well Omar seems to be in good spirits on his twitter. I think (just be reading between the lines of what has been published) he's pretty much locked into moving to them during the summer.
God no. Why are people going here? Stupid Preston Z. It was an accident. I'm sure Timmy feels terrible. Let's leave it at that.
Just to make it clear to anyone, I don't hate Timmay Chandler. I think he's a fantastic player & he's not dirty at all. Just an unfortunate accident. The question was rhetorical. Long term injuries are never good, but this couldn't have come at a much worse time for Omar.
Omar Gonzalez tears ACL while on loan with Nurnberg http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/soccer/01/06/gonzalez.acl.ap/index.html?sct=sc_t2_a5 horrible luck ....
So the loan was cancelled? Or is he back in LA with no stipulation to go back? Evidently he was more important to LA than anyone knew. I hope he makes a full recovery and plays 10 years for the USMNT.
The loan was only to the beginning of the MLS season. He went back stateside as soon as he was injured.
I hope Nuremberg is still interested in Omar but I'm not so sure if they are since they bought a Brazilian defender last month.
Well, I suppose if anything, he needs to get back to playing well with LA, proving his fitness, before he can thing of another move abroad.
Omar started and played 45 minutes. He looked OK, wasn't tested too much. His substitution appeared to be precautionary, not performance. Very impressive that he is able to play 6 months after his injury!
6 months is the minimum time, which to me means it was a clean tear which is good. One girl on my college's lacrosse team had a clean ACL tear early in the spring and was off crutches and able to do light training within 3-4 months.
I was shocked to see him. My wife said Omar's back tonite! Yeah right, I say, You might see him by October or November if you see him at all this season. Shows what I know.
