Another live version, even with them past their collective primes still makes an interesting listen. Fidelity wasn't the best, but that was true of their other live performances as well.
We must respond to differing things? I would never say that was "past their prime." I've been listening to their music since the banana album came out-- but always despite their limitations, because the material was so inspired. Man, that is what a prime sounds like AFAICS! On that the band is up to the material, and so is the recording. You can really hear Maureen, and feel why drummers have always held her in high regard... or maybe I mean feel Maureen and hear etc...
I didn't say it well, but was referring to the songwriting in terms of this was not new material (of course, they had been split up for 20 years or so before this short lived reunion). I've enjoyed every one of their albums that I've listened to. Maybe it's lucky for me that I've never seen a copy of Squeeze.
I'm in a mood. I've been playing this song non stop for days. It's powerful and funereal and otherworldly. I keep making it louder and louder, but I can't get it loud enough. I want it inside me. I want to feel like this song is supposed to make me feel, and I can't.
