Wednesday 13 December 2017 London Stadium USA TV: none (NBC Gold, or you know what...) 3pm ET We’re on a little bit of a bad run in the league, which we should nip in the bud! Yesterday we played anemically at Southampton, a team 7 places below us in the table, and were fortunate to earn 1pt. One week ago we played really well, hosting our old nemesis United/Mourinho. But schoolboy errors gifted them 2 goals, and even though their worldclass keeper was on his game, our finishing overall was just. not. sharp. enough. 0pts. In between there was a fabulously productive midweek match by our B-team against a Belorussian minnow. So now we’re faced we take a short trip to the previously tepid London Stadium. But they'll no doubt be louder and more buoyant, given that they have a new manager, who just produced a strong-willed upset of their arch-rival Chelsea... in this very arena. I have no idea which Arsenal is gonna show up. But if I were boss, I’d be tempted to play our successful B-team. Which works well for fixture-congestion rotation as well. COYG!!!! p.s. Once again I find that I made the thread for this same fixture 1 year ago, and the result then was 5-1 to the good guys, with a Sanchez trick.
Damn. My directtv guide was showing this game on nbcsn. Now it is showing the City game. Guess I’ll be watching later in the evening
I have already posted in the tactics thread that we should go to a back four for this game (and beyond). We played well in that formation after we went to it against United. We played it against BATE and scored six. Especially against teams like West Ham where you would expect we would have the majority of possession, having that extra attacker on the field would be most welcome.
I just saw NBCSN's ticker about tomorrow's matches, and it said we'll be live on NBC Universo (en Espanol, but maybe SAP English will be available too)
Says NBC Sports Gold (which I finally ended up getting - figure it's worth it if Arsenal are on for 6 matches this season).
Good for you. I haven't taken the bait quite yet, largely on principle. But I realize it's like Hans Brinker holding his finger in the dike. Honestly, the reason I might pay for Gold is more for the ancillary EPL content, e.g. Review Show, than for the live matches, which I can always seem to find an alternative way of watching. But realistically I'll probably just skip Gold until next season, when for one reason or another Arsenal may be off of traditional TV even more. p.s. There's a decent chance that today's match is on NBC Universo, as well as NBC Gold. I'm DVR'g the former, and with any luck SAP English will work. That said, the last time we were supposed to be on Universo, we got preempted by one of the bigger clubs.
For me, the issue is that I'm frequently at work, so for weekday games if the game is on NBC Gold I miss the game.
As much as I'd have liked to seen more rotation, more of our B-side, I can understand why he chose this team. EPL standing is still Job One... by far! Cech Bellerin Koscielny (c) Monreal Maitland-Niles Iwobi Xhaka Wilshere Ozil Alexis Giroud Substitutes: Ospina Chambers Kolasinac Coquelin Elneny Welbeck Lacazette
Yup, I think I'd rather deal with a legit TV channel en Espanol than dodgy/risky English streams. p.s. And even in 480i, I still prefer it.
You can see the difference in the attack Wilsh and Iwobi are trying to dribble past their men in the box and then find the open man
Meanwhile Leicester are 2-0 up at Soton, a place where we struggled mightily for a measly point... just days ago. Hmm. Edit: Make that 3
