We played pretty well at Palace, creating gobs of great chances, but a lack of clinical finishing, coupled with not-quite-rock-solid defending, very nearly cost us points. Thought to be fair, as @thebigman said, at least one of our attackers knew how to bury tricky chances.

Yet another instant turnaround... on 2+ days rest. I suspect the term “festive period” amongst EPL teams may not have very “festive” connotations. Will the boss rotate? Or just throw caution to the wind... tempting fitness fate with Koscielny, Wilshere and ?? If so, we might see the same XI, except Coq/AMN for Xhaka?

And another away trip to the bottom half. With any luck, WBA’s bad form of late (no wins in 4+ mos!), and with Alan Pardew struggling mightily to match the EPL's other new savior-appointments, this SHOULD be 3 points in the bag! Consider us adequately jinxed now. ;)

Last but not least, this game marks Wenger’s 811th in the EPL, taking the record away from SAF. Even if many of us think it’s time for him to ride off into the sunset, this is an amazing feat, which no one would’ve predicted, even David Dean. (p.s. Fergie managed United for 6 yrs pre-EPL, so you gotta figure he’ll always be ahead of Le Professeur overall... right??!)

    Anyway...
    COYG!!!!

    Pardieu is at WBA now?

I can't keep track of the Pulis/Pardew/Fat Sam/Moyes/Mark Hughes carousel anymore.

To be fair, in his fifth season at Stoke, Hughes has been at his current club longer than the other four combined have been at their current clubs.

I wish we had our old gold O2-sponsored kits from our Boxing Day match away to West Brom in the 2002-03 season, you know, something like this:

WTF?! I can't remember us doing that before. So we want to look something like Liverpool??

Why not our ugly 3rd strip?

Sorry, I posted this is the wrong thread earlier...

No Ozil in squad today. And Xhaka is OK to start. Both a bit surprising.

    Iwobi and Kola get starts.

Arsenal XI: Cech, Chambers, Koscielny, Mustafi, Bellerin, Wilshere, Xhaka, Kolasinac, Iwobi, Alexis, Lacazette

Bench: Ospina, Mertesacker, Maitland-Niles, Coquelin, Elneny, Walcott, Welbeck

I agree, but Wenger said he had an injury. Still then when the interviewer asked if it was more just resting him for the next match, he replied "he might be fit for Chelsea".

Thanks. That was a bit of a mind trip. 1975-76 when I was boy standing on the North Bank. QPR were good then. And a guy nameed Jimmy Rimmer was our keeper. (see photo) Until the mighty Pat Jennings came along. :)
