no idea but supposedly if they get relegated Hamburg wants to get rid of him asap. As his unaffected wages are too much money to begin with and it's not good when he's the only one with an unaffected salary. They don't want to cause problems within the team, something like that.

Game on. Bobbo on the bench. To save you the drama, he will come on at 79' and score the game winner at +1, just cuz.

Holtby scores 1-0. Bobby came on right after the goal

And the cheeseburgers close one out 1-0 over french freisburg.

Bobby did exactly the square root of jack $hit on the pitch.

Amazing, Hamburg is only 3 points off the relegation zone. Massive win.

If Bobby can score the goal that keeps them in the BL ( a la Dempsey for Fulham) all will be forgotten and repaid.

He had one moment towards the end where he stole the ball off of the defender and had a chance to shoot or pass at goal.

He passed but made the decision late and telegraphed it. So the defender was able to block the shot.

In fairness the shot could have been much better.

He's getting pretty skewered online for that, but if they stay up and he's getting minutes, he'll live to play another day (will anyway, of course, but if HSV can claw out of this hole everyone associated with the team gets a medal.)

Are you sure it's 3 points? Soccerway and Wikipedia lists them at 25pts and both Freiberg/Mainz/Wolfsburg at 30pts. (Mainz with a game in hand).

They play away to Wolfsburg and Frankfurt and then home to Mochengladbach.

Gonna be tough, but where there's a Will....

i thought the 25 was before the win? 5 points is not easy. They also have a game on Mainz...meh, see you in Bully2 next year.

I could be wrong. I'll check the website and see. 25pts .

They can get relegated. I just wanna see Robert score some goals before then.

5 points off Freiburg, 3 games to play. Manz and Wofls also on 30, but with better GD and Mainz yet to play round 30, fwiw. Possible, but not easy. HSV have to go 2-0-1 at worst and one of Mainz, Wolfs or Frieburg have to go 0-fer or at best Frieburg can go 0-1-2 and HSV beat them on GD.

Next week Hamburg play at Wolfsburg. Win and they are two points behind Wolfsburg and the playoff spot.

    Freiburg host Köln

Looks like Holtby has been terrific since his return. He is playing in that 8/10 role that he played so well in front of Jermaine with a #6 behind at Schalke. 3 Gs in the last 5 matches since his return from injury.

If Holtby stays hot Hamburg may stay up and Wood may get a few chances to score some goals.

Don’t forget about Mainz who has Leipzig, Dortmund, and Werder.

If Hamburg can win and Mainz and Freiburg lose the relegation situation becomes very interesting with Hamburg behind by 3pts.

Hamburg needs to win next week to have any shot since their last 2 games are more difficult.

As a Freiburg fan, I have not, and Mainz just lost to stay at 30 points.

Mainz probs has the toughest schedule of the 30 pointers, but starts with best GD.

If Hamburg can win next week they will have a snowball's change of pipping 16. Having 3 teams on 30 helps their odds a tiny bit, but still the longest of long shots.

Good fun if they can manage it though.

The thing about that late Bobby play where he finished it with an imperfect pass - he made a sixty yard run off of a steal first. Yes, he probably should have played the pass earlier and more accurately, but the guy who took the shot panicked, and probably could have cut it back for a wide open empty net shot. But the whole first part of the play by Bobby was awesome. Glass half full.

Hope he doesn't so HSV has a better chance of staying up. Think a little more long term.
