I hope somehow he remains. Would really like to see a US striker score more than a handful in the Bundesliga/2 Bundesliga
I’d rsther see him in France or Turkey. In recent years We have not been served well by prime players returning to MLS.
His wages, which are already high by BL1 standards, would crucify HSV in BL2. There are no parachute payments in the Bundesliga and BL2 gets only 20% of the Bundesliga's TV deal for both divisions, and their sponsorship revenues would decline sharply as well. The other reason for wanting to move him (and others of similar standing) on is that the psychological blow to the club seems to last longer when the big names who have failed to deliver hang around. Better to clear out the squad and start again with younger, hungrier players who don't have the stigma hanging over them
Have a hunch he'll score if he starts. Aronjo had a good game after ages, and good things tend to come in waves.

Wood put in a decent shift today, but this team is dreadful. He really needed to convert on at least one of his chances in the box today. I suppose that is "the book" on him though. He is like all their players with some particular flaw that keeps that player from being the player they could be. I reckon that is why they are at Hamburg instead of BVB BM, S04 or RBL. I still think he is a useful player, and his hold up play is not bad at all, but you van have so many flawed players on one team. I believe they are down unless somebody on the team hits a real purple patch and inspires the others to raise up a bit. I would love for Bobby to be that guy, but I do not think he is up for it. He would benefit from a hot midfielder providing some good service. If he misses sitters he has to put some of those half chances away occasionally.
HSV were competitive, and Bobby was useful - that is a step up from being useless on a shambolic team. His hold-up play was nice and his physicality presented a challenge for the opposing defenders. Obviously he needs to finish chances, but the local papers rating him 5.5 and labeling him "shambolic" is a bit out of line this week.
Kicker actually gave him his usual 6 : http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...elbericht_hamburger-sv-12_hannover-96-58.html I swear they only use the rating 6 with Bobby.
Kicker is not impressed. Of the 250 players rated by Kicker for the season, Wood is dead last with an average of 4.82. Next lowest score is 4.47 so he has a pretty good lead for bottomspieler.
that is a big 'lead' over the second to last player. Bobby is, unfortunately, a significant outlier in a spot no one wants to be in.
Yes, it is lonely all the way out there on the right. Whether it is all deserved is another question. For reference, Chandler and Pulisic are in the mode area (~3.25).
