Ideal situation for Bobby right? The last manager kinda threw him under the bus for a while (even if he might have deserved criticism)
Don't think it matters. Wood is the highest paid forward and they aren't going to sign any new players based on the owners comments. So the new manager has to try and shine this piles of turds into a diamond somehow.
they're planning for the future? He seems like a reasonable B2 coach... Maybe he brings some of the Magrath magic.
Flamengo had interest in signing Wallace but Jens Todt to Kicker: "The change is off the table. He wants a fresh start and has promised to give everything to HSV."
BILD say that #HSV have paid 8 million euros in compensation to 15 ex-coaches. Just one of the reasons they've had to tighten up financially. #Bundesliga— Kevin Hatchard 🎙⚽️ (@kevinhatchard) January 25, 2018

Didn't get much twitter love fwiw. But a point is a point, esp v. a top 4 team. That said, it didn't move the needle much. Still one off spot off bottomfeeder Koln.
I wouldn't give the Goats for dead yet, they've been playing a lot better since they kicked out their previous manager (who, BTW, is Peter Stöger, the guy coaching BvB into unwatchability now). They were close to getting the full three points today, against a quite good Augsburg.
Wood had a chance to win this one and looked very much like a striker with no confidence in himself. It´s a sad sight. That was HIS sort of chance. We´veall seen him look brilliant in that exact sort of situation. He looked slow on the turn and unsure on the shot, etc. Sigh. Come on, Bobby.
The consensus in the Rauten forum seems to be "unfassbar schlecht," unbelievably bad, which is what they used to apply to Jozy in the Ready To Go forums. Striker-wise, we're showing some remarkable consistency in Europe. https://www.rauten-forum.de/index.php?thread/16713-bobby-wood/&pageNo=180
Which means he's headed for a multi-million dollar move, 3 seasons of prolific scoring, locking down a starting USMNT role and some hardware?!
I know not always reliable but still interesting. Source tells me Bobby Wood has admirers, MSV Duisburg and RBNY. He's not leaving Hamburg before the summer and HSV will have to assess entire team should they be relegated.— MLS Transfers (@MLSTransfers) January 31, 2018 although if you get relegated why not keep him. He has experience in 2BL.
Probably an unpopular opinion but I would love to see him at RBNY. Just a hunch with zero evidence but I think he would be more consistent in the US.
For Bobby, who has never played professionally in the US, MLS might be really interesting.OTOH, he will have offers if Hamburg is looking to offload this summer.
Would they? Yeeha! Can they afford to make it happen? [emoji45] Union will not and probably should not be placing multi-million € bids. I’m not sure single million bids are in the cards. Even if they would sequels almost always fail to match the original He is a legend and we would love to have him back. We could really use a consistent goal scorer. But for bobby there should be better options Now if we get promoted... hahahahahaha... sorry What were we Talking about?
MSV has been a yo-yo club between 3bund and 2bund for the last few seasons although they look to be doing better this season currently in 7th. I would prefer RBNY honestly if he was going to go to any MLS team. They have shown more willingness to sell to Europe if they get a good offer. 538 has RBNY as the 247th best team in the world compared to 274th for MSV. Hamburg is 82nd.
How much of a paycut would he have if he stays with Hamburg and they go down? I would expect maybe a Championship club might show some interest in him, if he could start scoring again.
