Wood has been average. His only knock is that he doesn't score.

does anyone actually score for this club?

I think Diekmeier is fairly good/useful (not in a scoring sense).

If Wood was German and Arp was American we would have Wood's head on a platter.

Well, Hamburg is pretty famous for its nightlife (and its red-light district) and chicks love players, so I'd say that plenty of players score plenty, though whether they're scoring for the team is a matter of debate. :p

They're certainly not doing it on the pitch.

why do you say this? My view, and I think it is generally shared here, is that Arp will be better than Bobby and is in better current form, but that the 2 form a better partnership so far than any other combination up front for Hamburg and Bobby is on the field WITH Arp - not instead of him - because Hamburg don't have better options.

A dismal period for Yanks abroad. None scoring except 1 in the Netherlands

Hamburg play today. Any chance he's on the bench?

I believe he's out for today's game. With that he only has 1 game left before the break.

Does anyone know exactly what his knee injury is?

According to HSV twitter it is "still irritated so Bobby is not playing today" (or "Bobby's knee is irritated he's not playing" depending on what translator you use.)

I have not seen an "official" medical diagnosis lately.

Yeah it's the same issue that's plagued him since 1860. I'm just curious what it is and if there's any way to get him 100%

Dunno. I've looked a bit but come up with not much. He did train for 40 mins yesterday.

Sounds like Friday is a possibility. Lots of games for HSV right now. Too bad Wood is not mobile.

Really kinda wish they'd just shut him down for the break but I understand they need the points.

They are also getting 0 output from others Papa scored today (and then they gave up 2. A 1-0 win with a defender scoring would be perfect for Wood. HSV losing is not... 2nd half starts)

I bet he goes Friday. Players got to be tired.

which is quite interesting to me.

So he was playing for a team that got relegated to 3 Bundesliga. And he plays in a few NT games in may 2015 and he does well and gets a move to Union Berlin and scores 17 league goals (3rd highest scorer that season). Gets a move to Hamburg as a starter and gets like 1.5 million euros a year. Scores 9 goals last season and doubles his pay.

Not too shabby. All within 2 years. He must have 1 really good agent
