Dude, anything is better than last season. And the season before. And the season before that. And the season . . .
I was only following on Twitter as I'm stuck on a plane, but apparently he had a flick on in the second half that should have been converted. I'll try to watch it when I get home. From all accounts it could have gone either way, and was (for HSV fans anyway) a bit of a nail biter.
For the first time, HSV fans are starting to sound a bit fed up with Bobby's lack of production. http://www.rauten-forum.de/index.php?thread/16713-bobby-wood/&pageNo=141
"I see it coming. The pressure of the big contract, coming from the fans and media, gives Wood a mental block. The media and the fans will be to blame." "There's no comparison. In terms of market price alone, Phillip[sic]* is on a different level than Wood. He had twice as many attempts in fewer minutes than Wood. He's also a year younger, which is a lot for that position. Wood only has an advantage in having played games for his main NT, if we compared Germany to that world power that is the USA. There's a reason why Dortmund wanted Philipp, had they wanted Wood he wouldn't be here." * They mean Maximilian Philipp, a striker they want but who got bought by BVB. There's some criticism of how he fails to trap a ball, specially when delivered by air, and then this comment: "With the salary he's making now, Wood has entered the sphere where he must be a difference-maker for a gray mouse* team like ours. At this point he's on the same boat with the much maligned Hunt and Holtby!" * Gray mouse means unremarkable, but in this context it should be translated as "weak" or "lower-half of the table."
Big pressure comes with the big money! I agree about Philipp- think he's a better (potential) player. But I've doubted Bobby before and probably should Have learned my lesson.
They have to buy a replacement. Hunt cannot be the starter and Hamburg expect to avoid relegation. Ouch what a terrible outcome for him and his team.
Is there a physical act that is more designed to tear an ACL than that celebration? The jumping speed and rotational impact. Jeez that was stupid.
This was multiple levels of stupid. Nicolai Muller went from scoring a goal to out for 7 months in seconds. Tearing your ACL isn't a very good goal celebration. pic.twitter.com/8zyoPt5s9R— The Ledge (@TheLedgeSports) August 20, 2017
And there are folks that would like to see Pulisic liven up his goal celebrations. I think a fist pump and light jog back to the center circle is just fine and dandy.
