I turned this on about 15 minutes ago. Surprisingly or unsurprisingly, Osnabruck has controlled play and taken a 1-0 lead. Wood hasn't done much other than a quarter chance that was blocked.
USA! USA! The American gets on the scoresheet after meeting a low cross with a late run into the box, a big goal for Heider. 2-0 Osnabruck.
Each time Hamburg concedes a goal is because of individual play from their opponent. While in offense, Hamburg doesn't know what to do when dealing with a packed defense.
3-0 after a Hamburg defender slipped. The main positive is that Hamburg's schedule will not become too strenuous for Wood this season. Hopefully Wood can grab a consolation goal.
lets hope Wood gets 10-15 league goals and his play warrants a move to a better club, bc Hamburg are going down this year.
Wood missed a big, though challenging, chance in the final minutes. A ball was headed towards him in the 6-yard box with the goal gaping, but Wood was not quite able to stretch his leg enough to get solid contact, and he sent the ball into orbit.
At least he got his first goal of the season. If he gets at least 10 goals this season, he's done okay. If he can get 15 with some goals in Russia, he won't have anything to worry about.
HSV might as well skip the second division and go all the way down to 3.Liga. 💬 #Gisdol: "I don't want to make any excuses. You saw the game. Why this always happens to #HSV, I don't know." #vflhsv— HSV English (@HSV_English) August 13, 2017
I'm glad to see he was the PK taker. But was he chosen to do so or did he just demand the ball? and was the coach really playing the first team against an average third division side?
Ok, I would give him a 7; battled hard, chased everything, drew a red, scored a penalty had a couple poor touches and blew a sitter. The typical life of a forward.
