Was thinking about this and I'm sorry to be the first one to shit on the parade but I'm not sure Pavoletti is the answer. Wasn't the issue with Gabbs that he wasn't particularly strong wrt build up play? Pavoletti is a good finisher but he's really just a glorified poacher. He's not really going to help with cohesion up front.
Manolo's conversion rate is actually pretty higher. Has been for a couple of seasons. The modern striker needs to be a versatile player, Gabbs and potentially Pavlo are one-trick ponies. Anyway, we'll see.
