There is not a single German publication that would have provided Özil with such a stage. They would have exposed themselves to ridicule. He had to do it in an international paper cause in this country no one would believe it anyway. The German press reaction was also like "roll eyes, not him again" not taking anything seriously he said.

That's like saying you'll tolerate the nons
My guy, I'm not Ozil's number one defender but if the German footballs institution had my name in their mouth like they did Ozil's I would have been much less diplomatic.

Why exactly? They treated him with kid gloves. Let him bottle a complete WC campaign because they shat their pants they could be accused of racism to then be called racists afterwards - by him. And someone like Effenberg was kicked from the NT because of "this":

It's amazing Ozil is blamed for 2018

So many players were bobbins and Loew's tactics diabolical

Was it Ozil's fault that Germany's only elite winger wasn't even picked? :ROFLMAO:

Tbh Germany were a joke of a team, with several players of atleast one season of non-elite data.

So you're saying the whole shit storm had no effect whatsoever on the campaign? Gündogan didnt score on an open goal and the stadium in Leverkusen celebrated it. It's not wrong what you are saying but the decisive factor was clearly Özil. Löw won the confed cup a year prior

It’s silly to suggest that one picture is why Germany got countered to death.

Low thought he could get another cup out of the team and tactics. He was wrong, that's about it imo.

I think everyone was shocked when the team was announced.

Boeteng and mueller were more to blame than ozil

    boeteng fell off a cliff

    Muller and Werner sucked too

they just came to the end of that cycle

they have some good talent now though

havertz looks awesome and sule etc

I loved Ozil laughing tweet and I support him 100% with his battle with Emery. I have no problem with a manager benching or leaving a player out of the team for any sort of reason it is their prerogative. However when Emery says every week disingenuously that Ozil is fit and looking good and needs to work harder and he will get his chance and then he never gets his chance like seriously wth. But I'm confident that Ozil will outlast Emery so Mesut will get the last laugh.

Btw to blame Ozil for Germany crashing in the WC is laughable. The team selection was horrid and the tactics were horrendous. How do you leave Sane at home then take a team old in the tooth.. Very similar to Spain 2014 holding on to long to an old guard..

He played superb vs Liverpool in the EFL cup. Was prematurely subbed off when he looked like our best player offensively. The only downside your going to get is him not playing Defense effectively but apparently none of our players can do that so why not play Ozil. I doubt we see him again for a while though.

Hey guys, I've created a video where I have tried to determine whether or not Ozil is actually beneficial to Arsenal, and whether his salary/cost justifies his return. Would appreciate you watching it and letting me know what you think. Look forward to the discussions! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC72tyT-9RU11l-BXEjsDGSA/

I only got halfway through. I don't believe the question for fans should be whether his salary/cost justifies his return, the question for both Emery and the fans should be whether Arsenal are a better team when Ozil is on the field. I think the answer to that question is yes.

Thought apparently not better enough. E.g. Saturday where he had arguably a pretty good game, and yet with our creative talisman finally on the field, along with our 2 star strikers, in a 4-diamond-2 formation presumably tailored to these three... and still we only managed 4 shots on target, and 10 shots overall.
