Asensio has played well in every game he’s played for us this year, he might not have scored himself but he created opportunities for the team to do so, which includes the penalties he’s won.

How in the hell does he produce so much power with the inside of his foot without much of a run up? Incredible.

    omg, love this guy.

The second goal of Spain vs Croatia, his goal from outside the box with his left foot was like something that you only see in video games. AMAZING!

Spain third goal it was him that kick it in, it hit the pole and bounce back in, on the way got touch by Croatia's GK, perhaps that was why it count as Croatia OG? But I still see it as Asensio's goal.

Then into the second half, he assisted all 3 of Spain goals.

This Twitter's pic sum it up.

Mann, I wish this guy all the good luck. GO GO Asensio!

In hindsight, Asensio has greatly benefited from summers' transfer window.

He would've ended up like Kova if Ronaldo stayed or if Hazard joined RM.

Another hot start to the season from him. Lets see where he is in Feb/Mar. We rely on him more than other years so he has to start seeing himself as one of the main players of the team rather than the kid and show consistency.

What a great shot he has in his left foot. That first goal. Little to no backlift and little to no follow through. Side footed. And yet that much power. wow.

I'm pretty sure the club offered him the number 7 and he declined it because he has eyes set on that 10 someday.

James not coming back confirmed!?!!!???!?!?! :p

James could look great in a no.7 shirt though. Pity

He said couple days ago that the club did not offer him the number 7.

The club gave little importance to the number is what I understood from Mariano when he was asked about this. They simply asked him what shirt do you want from the ones that are available and he said the 7, and that was the end of it.
If Asensio wanted it he would have grabbed it.

I don't know if that quote was translated poorly or what but what a silly thing to say if he did it mean it like that. Learn how to speak to the press bro.

The quote is accurate, he seems annoyed with the press during the entire interview though.

His high was a good one, but I don't think he has staying power. Maybe I will be wrong.

How hard is to stay "the players all share responsibility" or "I would relish the opportunity to have more responsibility"

There is some truth to what he is saying, except that in this context how can it be interpreted as anything other than making excuses and deflecting the blame.

Guys like Ronaldo and Raul never depended on "veterans" to take care of business.

Kinda easy to do that when the club has been doing that for years with Benzema and Bale.

Wow can't believe he actually said this. If he had any ambition to be one of the best he wouldn't even be saying this shit. Turns 23 years this year.

I don't see anything wrong with it. There are players earning 4 times as much as he does, have spent about a decade at the club, and demand to be the leaders. People interpret it any way they want, but the truth is asking a player who isn't even a fixed starter to take responsibility for the situation is pretty comical.

It seems to me like these guys are simply happy to play for Real Madrid even as subs. Morata was different in that sense..
