Liverpool have completed the signing of Hull City defender Andrew Robertson. Scotland international Robertson has signed a long-term contract and moves to Anfield for an undisclosed fee, which sources have told ESPN FC is £8 million and could rise to £10m. http://www.espn.co.uk/football/socc...-of-left-back-andrew-robertson-from-hull-city
He must be thinking to himself, "Pinch me, I'm dreaming" after getting rescued from the sinking ship that is Hull City.
He'll not make the league team of the year, but he's certainly got the potential to be a starter for us over the 5-8 years.
Andrew Robertson is set to be handed his Liverpool debut this Saturday when the Reds take on Hertha Berlin due to a thigh injury to James Milner. https://www.rousingthekop.com/2017/07/25/liverpool-signing-handed-debut-weekend/
Robertson made his Premier League debut for the Reds against Crystal Palace, created more chances (three) and had more touches of the ball (134) than any other Liverpool player.
I honestly wasn't expecting too much from Robertson but was surprised me with how well he played. I thought he was one of our better players on the day and I think he'll be well pleased with his debut at Anfield.
his teammates obviously have a lot of confidence in him. he was excellent imo and provided a real threat. can't overlook that Milner gave him a lot of freedom - did a great job of covering when Robbo went forward.
That was excellent midfield play by Milner by the way. Something we haven't seen this season except, intermittently, from Can. One thing I liked about Robertson is that he doesn't seem to hold any fear. Good.
yep and I liked that he varied them high / low to keep the defenders guessing. if we'd had someone attacking the front post a few times they would have paid off .... but they'll all get in synch soon.
Very impressive debut and look forward to seeing him playing more. Certainly his crossing was good - but I also liked his quick passing with the midfielders and forwards around him -- great start!
Robbo scored a beauty last night. OK Lithuania was the oppo but his shot from the edge of the box curled in beautifully. he also put in a couple of superb crosses. bbc: "it was a beauty. Scotland countered from their own penalty box, sweeping down the left-hand side through Phillips. When James Forrest played it to the outstanding Robertson, the Liverpool full-back was decisive and deadly. His sumptuous shot from distance gave Ernestas Setkus in the Lithuania goal no chance."
He's been great and has a lot of upside. I think he's more tactically aware than Moreno and thus far hasn't shown the propensity to fly recklessly into tackles. All in all, he may be one of the bargains of the season simply because his price tag was so low (given current market insanity.) Fantastic pick up.
