On the day before what was anticipated to be the most highly covered WWC final around the globe in the tournaments history, one would expect the NY Times, a self-appointed voice of self-righteousness, to have graced its readers with an analysis of which team could be expected to win the final and why. Instead, there was no such analysis in any article, and instead an article focused excessively on Brandi Chastain's winning celebration from 20 years ago. Now, a feature analyzing a memorable moment with lasting impact can be insightful, but should it have pre-empted all analysis of the upcoming final?? Someone needs to ask the NY Times: Whose attitude needs to change?
You're complaining about a newspaper that has barely had a sports department in a decade. I'm not even sure they cover sports daily. Of course if this a newspaper you regularly go to for this type of news, opinion and analysis, I'm sure you know that.
