So nice of Ellis to not release either Smith or Purdge so they could sit on a bench

02' 1-0 Skroski (way up at arc top wide left) square pass right to Meehan at box top left, 1-v-1 on Church. Meehan drives down box left, stutter-and-go move wrong-foots Church. Meehan reaches 3m mid-left, cutback ground pass to 6m left post. Corboz slides just-late and micro-tips a sliding poke try -- it deflects rightward to 6-top right post. Hayes lurks thereat, sweeps one-touch left instep just inside right post low. Corboz gets an assist for that :D

25' 1-0 RB Stanton pressured 1-v-2 at own box top right, her clearance rattles off Ship's shins and back off her own. Ship turns and dribbles away, sees LB Dydasco overlapping from 24m -- backheel through box top (her) left springs Dydasco down box mid-left to 8m. RF Hayes tracks back and covers , blocks cross over endline. Box-to-box winger :geek:

    [BOS-KC]
21' 0-1 D.Scott collects ball above own arc top, dribbles up centerline, jukes past Salem at circle back and accelerates away -- Salem looks like she's running gingerly. Scott drifts to 27m mid-right, through-ball down mid-right springs Gibbons behind LCB Miramontez through box top right -- with LB Chapman stranded way high at 30m and jogging back. Gibbons catches up to ball at 7m mid-right, one-touch pass to 4m left post past King sliding, Kelly sweeps it just inside left post low.

26' 1-1 Boston backpass, Prudhomme boots it to center circle, Stengel chests it back to White at circle right. White passes wide right to Leon, she dribbles inside to 30m box right, right outstep pass to Stengel facing away at 22m mid-right. Stengel one-touch ball-stop for White, spins self cw and heads toward arc right. White eschews the passing game, runs on and blasts one-touch left instep from 22m mid-right, outswings to right 90 -- off right post high over Barnhart diving, bounces across into back left low.

30' 2-1 Boston right ck, short backpass to Leon. Leon ground pass to 15m 6-right, White cuts center-to-right and chips one-touch right instep, perfect sidespin bend over Barnhart stranded at 4m, over Scott jumping (not tall enough :whistling:), dives into back left 1/2 high.

52' 1-1 Lytle left throw-in at circle back, up left touch. E.Johnson(?) heads ball to midfield wide right, Huster swings waist-high right instep up wide right to 30m. Pearce steps up to chest-trap, Ship flicks chest-high right foot knockdown under/past/behind Pearce, has a solo breakaway through box top right. Ship follows ball to 15m mid-right, blasts right instep across mouth, golaaaaaazo into back left edge 2/3 high. Ship's 1st pro goal

61' 1-2 Labbé long punt bounces at 27m arc right, sends D.Richardson in a tricky chase toward own box top with Ship overtaking her from the right flank. Richardson rushes a toepoke backpass from arc tangent right, pulls up as Ship runs past -- but the backspin bites in the grass at 13m, ball dies perfectly and Ship beats Prudhomme's late lunge-stomp try, flicks ball toward left post low. Ship and Ch.Williams chase, both see ball headed juuust wide left -- Ch.Williams split-lunges and taps ball just inside left post low, sprawls into endzone just wide of post.

Two games, two comebacks to flip-flop the lead.

    71' 1-2 Sky Blue subs in (1 of 3) #32 Natasha Kai for #5 Maya Hayes. Kai's 1st appearance in 2017

73' 1-3 Almost immediately thereafter, Sheridan gk (and puffing or wincing a bit just before it), Dougherty Howard chests it away from Killion at circle top tangent right, accelerates past her as Killion looks around for the ball. Ship collects and dribbles to 25m arc right, Dougherty Howard bends her run to centerline behind Ship, overtaking her on the left. Ship rolls a pass to arc top center, Dougherty Howard collects between Rodriguez and Pearce, dribbles and stays up to 15m 1/3 left and neither of them slide-tackle ball away. Simple right foot shot bounces under Sheridan, into back left low -- that's Dougherty Howard's first NWSL goal. Sheridan stays down with left foot/ankle pain -- she injured it before the gk, and aggravated it on the gk and the dive.

82' 1-3 Labbé gk(?), Ch.Williams gathers at 25m left touch ... then burns Richardson through box left to 7m 7-left, shoots right instep off left post, bounces across through box right. K.Mewis chases it down, backpass touched out by NJ.

83' 1-3 E.Johnson right throw-in, Solaun passes to K.Mewis at 9m wide right, her cross hits a back and bounces out to Solaun at box top right. Solaun taps square left to Dougherty Howard at arc tangent right, she steps up and shoots off crossbar.

84' 1-3 Solaun right ck, to 6-top, headed out to arc top right. Dydasco settles and shoots, off the back right support pole. NJ are under constant siege.

87' 1-3 Dydasco diagonal pass down wide left for Ch.Williams to 11m, cross to 15m arc left bounces off Rodriguez, rolls to 12m 6-left. Killion scoops at ball but hooks Dougherty Howard's left foot, trips her flat

    87' 1-4 Solaun pk, right instep mini-chip to 1/4 right 1/5 high.

FT 1-4. Sky Blue's makeshift backline had many players run out of gas, and then run out of fumes ...

81' 2-2 Prudhomme gk to circle back right, KC win control and backpass. Moros switches right to Miramontez, she dribbles to circle top right, hoofs a long switch to Tymrak at box top wide left. Tymrak cuts inside to 15m mid-left on King, shross across mouth misses everybody and bounces untouched at 3m center, wrong-foots Prudhomme and keeps bouncing into back right low.

I remember when, some years ago, Erika Tymrak seemed the next best thing; now she scores as a late substitute: what happened meanwhile?

So, the 16:30 matches should have all of the ToN players, despite being two days away from the last ToN matches? Some players could be anyway quite tired: is it possible that coaches decide not to play them all anyway? :cautious:

I suppose that Euro 2017 players that were eliminated early (Henry, others?) will be eager to get back to playing instead and won't be exceedingly tired, despite the international flight.

About absences in the Friday matches: I read in the injury report "Francisca Ordega (D45 – right knee chondral defect)". Does anyone know what kind of injury exactly it is for Francisca Ordega and when she would be supposed to get back on the pitch? :cautious:

Of course, and I'd expect that many coaches will choose to use most of the internationals, at least those who got a lot of minutes, as subs. Or they'll only get a half. With several teams having midweek games next week, its in the teams' best interest to make sure players get some rest.

[POR-HOU] no more free Lifetime ... but see below :D
Horan, Brynjarsdóttir, and Raso start for Portland.
Lloyd starts for Houston. (Brian, L.Williams declared OUT in the injury report)

12' 1-0 Klingenberg fk at arc top wide right, inswinger to 7m right post. Brooks twist-heads it up high and across but not away, ball drops into confusion at 4m left post -- Campbell takes a half-step out, changes mind and backpedals. Sonnett measures ball better than Poliana not boxing her out, outjumps Van Wyk coming across, lunge-heads a soft bouncer across mouth -- off right post, bounces in.

I just now (in week 15 ) realized that the same workaround I've been using for weeks to watch the geoblocked FIVB Volleyball YouTube channel for World Grand Prix (it's geoblocked because NBC's new Olympic Channel has USA rights) also works to unlock the int'l Lifetime stream on NWSL's home page. Ahem. Briefly: VPN, Hola, or Tor browser. Tor works!

32' 1-0 Levin(?) clears to midfield left touch, Daly settles and taps square right to Heap. Heap passes to Prince facing away at 30m arc left, continues own run upfield unnoticed. Prince spins cw and passes inside-out up wide left for Beckie to chase past box top. Reynolds slips while lunging at 8m and gets left behind, Beckie runs around forehand at 4m box left and crosses right instep to 8m 6-left. Heap and Horan arrive in the same space, Horan bumps Heap down face-forward. Foul, pk.

33' 1-1 Lloyd pk, right instep into back left low hard.

38' 2-1 Sinclair dribbles right-to-center across midfield, diagonal pass ahead to Klingenberg alone in a vast sea of green. Klingenberg dribbles to box top mid-left, hard cut toward endline spins Poliana around, to 6m mid-left. Cross or shot blocked by Van Wyk's chest, ball drops at 6-top left amidst six shoes. Lussi digs ball out to 5m 4-left, steps to it and snipes right instep across mouth, into back right low.

    46' 2-1.
Air temperature in Portland has reached 82.6º F (28.1º C), which is above the league-mandated 82º F, so there will be a 2H hydration/cooling break. The rubber pellets are heat sinks, so it's probably >100º F at shoe level already ...

60' 2-1 Portland subs in (1 of 3) #28 Amandine Henry for #34 Tyler Lussi.

06' 0-0 Morgan hits the crossbar!

    [NC-SEA]
    06' 0-0 NC's 3rd corner kick already :(

09' 0-0 Fishlock quick chip to 30m centerline, Kawasumi heads ball into own stride but it bounces too high -- Rowland comes out to own arc top, lunge-heads past Kawasumi. Seattle's game plan in evidently many quick chips from ~midfield to a runner, trying to run onto something.

17' 0-0 Rachel Hill is down holding her right foot. Stoppage ... two trainers help her limp into far touch. Marta is up as the sub ... that's a luxury :)

21' 0-0 After further treatment, Hill walks unassisted around the perimeter, with the trainer. Still no sub?

    24' 0-0 Orlando subs in (1 of 3) #10 Marta for #15 Rachel Hill.

24' 1-0 Fields outlets up wide left to Spencer at ~30m, she makes a quick pass through box top mid-left for Morgan 1-v-1 on S.Johnson. Morgan fakes an inward cut, flicks left outstep(?) down to 7m 6-left, shoots left foot across mouth past Naeher, into back right edge 1/3 high.

22' 0-0 NC's early all-out attack has slowed down to a realistic pace. Seattle have had a surprising handful of chances around NC's box. Fishlock isn't sprinting, but she's delivering good passes. Seattle's runner up top is -- Kawasumi!

29' 0-0 S.Mewis is faster than Yanez and Seattle's midfield: Narin, Fishlock (left knee wrapped), Elston. Barnes hip-checks her down at arc top wide right, foul.

32' 1-0 Stott fk at own 27m box right (after a handball), square pass left to Corsie, forward pass to Elston -- who misses the trap, and turns into S.Mewis's pressure arriving in her face. Elston rushes a switch left to -- nobody, Doniak chests ball alone at circle top (her) right. Elston sprints across to apply pressure, Doniak outpaces her 1-v-1 through box top left to 8m mid-left, pulls a ground cross back to 16m arc left, behind the swarm. L.Williams collects going centerward to 15m left post, right instep shot rolls to 1/3 right low, Kopmeyer dives and ball squeezes under her arm, into back right low.

52' 1-1 Spencer backpass to Edmonds, rushed switch pass intercepted by McCaffrey. Short backpass to DiBernardo at 33m mid-left, she shakes pressure, passes to Hoy at 25m center. Pressley lunge into a passing lane, Hoy cuts upfield past her, creeps up centerline to 21m. Right outstep flick to Huerta at box top 6-right, she stops ball and cuts back to left foot, bends left instep over Bledsoe, into back left high.

59' 1-1 Orlando subs in (2 of 3) #14 Alanna Kennedy for #17 Dani Weatherholt.
