Meanwhile, it's Thorns in Euro matchday 2. Brynjarsdóttir makes a pass! Henry makes a play!

Henry scored the equalizer for France! :p

Although I know she's in Portland, I don't remember where Brynjarsdóttir plays... :cautious:

    [CHI-ORL]
29' 1-0 Hoy shields Pressley just past midfield box right, turns away from Kennedy, taps square right to Colaprico at midfield right touch. Colaprico one-touch serve to 22m arc right, drops over Krieger into Press's stride behind her. Press dribbles fast through arc right to 12m, jukes Bledsoe down to knees and veers to 7m 6-right, passes ball into back left low.

37' 1-0 Spencer dribbles to 22m wide right as Morgan back-cuts Chicago's defense gone awry, unmarked through circle top. Morgan uncontested hop-header at 6-top left post toward center, Naeher blocks it over right 90.

52' 2-0 Huerta(?) holds at midfield right touch, in a 1-v-2 faceoff. Standing pass between them past circle top mid-right for Press camping on Orlando's very high back left flank. Krieger steps up to clear, but sole-blocks ball square right to Hoy. One-touch left roundhouse high over the back line springs Press chasing, 5m in behind to 22m mid-right. Press touches through box top arc right, veers to 11m 6-right as Bledsoe charges out to 8m, shoots right instep rising over Bledsoe into back left high. Krieger was marking Press until she stepped away to the ball, and nobody else could rotate over.

92+3' (of +4') 2-1 Ubogagu(?) slices a cross from 30m wide left to 15m center, Kennedy backpedals and back-heads over Short across mouth, wide right to 5m 7-right. Hill knocks down a cross along 6-top to 1/3 left, Kennedy out-slides Short and volleys a rocket into upper back right.

    FT 2-1.

    39' 0-0 Lightning delay.

[HOU-BOS] kickoff pushed back to 19:02 PDT
01' 0-0 ... and right on schedule! Still a steady drizzle, but that'll soften the field :coffee:

[SEA-NJ] also scheduled for 19:00 PDT
    19:05 PDT: end of anthem

[POR-WAS] pushed back to 19:13 PDT

[CRC-USA] Gold Cup semi -- baseball is in the bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, TEX 4-3 TB
... meek ground ball to shortstop, game over

08' 0-0 Beckie bends a ground pass into Daly's stride at 24m center, but she must slow down just a bit with King +1 on her back. Daly leans ahead, unbalances past spot, slides down on back as ball escapes -- and A.Smith, also sprawling to spot, inadvertently knees Daly in the head. Brief stoppage ... all resume.

    [SEA-NJ]
04' 0-0 Rapinoe harasses and steals at arc top left touch, pass to box left foot, Mattias(?) cross headed away.

[POR-WAS] stream goes live, in pre-game attraction mode.

23' 1-0 Andressinha dribbles through circle to left to 25m left post, perfect diagonal pass leads Prince through box top right post to 12m, she pulls Smith out to 6-top and passes ball just inside right post low. NWSL Twitter intern's highlight clip to-do list is backlogged, expect delays before they catch up to the action :)

26' 1-0 Rapinoe fk at 27m center, she bends it almost exactly like Beckham vs. Greece way back when -- right instep huge sidespin hooks into left side netting, past Sheridan's dive.

30' 1-0 Yellow card on Matthias, for a foul at own box top right.

    47' 2-0 Rapinoe pk

49' 3-0 Kawasumi half-volley dink pass from box top mid-right to 7m center for Yanez running down center lane, hop-header redirects past Sheridan into back right.

56' 4-0 Kawasumi plays Rapinoe down box left to 4m, hard cross to 5m center, Skroski shanks a volley-clearance try into her own upper back left.

60' 4-1 O'Hara pk. Mathias tripped Galton coming through box right?

64' 4-2 Sky Blue cross from box right, Kerr taps and leaves it for O'Hara up centerline to 6-top. Kopmeyer blocks shot to 6-top left post, Galton shoots under everybody into back right low.

72': And now Sky Blue just scored their 3rd goal to make it 4-3, possibly making another comeback?

EDIT: And right after I post, Sky Blue ties it up, 4-4.

Its not every day that you tune in just to watch the 2nd half and still get to see 7 goals (with possibly more to come).

58' 0-1 Pugh crosses from 3m wide right to 6-top center, Solaun flicks ball off right post low, chases Reynolds stumbling. Ball bounces across line, Solaun pokes in.

61' 1-1 Sonnett fk from circle top box left, high to 8m 5-right. A defender(?), falling backward 1-v-2, heads along own 6-top to 5m 1/4 left. Long bursts past the back edge of the scrum, one-touch right outstep flick outswings just behind right post low.

72' 4-3 Rodriguez passes down box left to 8m, Galton one-touch ground cross to 6-top left post. McNabb whiffs on a clearance, pokes it softly back to 9m center. Kerr turns to it, micro-taps square to Corboz coming unmarked down the center. One-touch right instep pull (while losing footing on grass), soft shot wrong-foots Kopmeyer into 1/6 left back low.

75' 4-4 Corboz chips from 23m box left to 6-top 1/5 right, Kerr leaps behind everybody and heads leftward, Kopmeyer gets right hand on it but it deflects into left side netting 1/2 high, just behind left post.

    82' 0-2 Dempsey fk!

    [SEA-NJ]
87' 5-4 And almost simultaneously ... Pickett longball to 27m arc right, K.Johnson taps square left to Rapinoe. Rapinoe touches to arc top left, square pass right to K.Johnson at arc right, spin-ccw almost sets up a shot -- but she stops spin, passes square left to Rapinoe unmarked at box top left post. Rapinoe steps alongside ball, one-touch left foot shot rises across mouth into back right high. +5'.

    [POR-WAS]
79' 2-1 And almost simultaneously ... Sykes drives on Dydasco at 20m box mid-right, cuts hard down mid-right past her to 5m, hooks a ground cross to 5m center. Weber posts up thereat, shields off E.Johnson, sweeps ball past Labbé into 1/4 left back low.

And I guess KC-NC got cancelled by adverse weather.
Rare sight: its game clock on the NWSL homepage ticker keeps going, and now reads:
    0-0 1st Half 195' :whistling:

That sucks for the Courage. That'll wipe out a week of recovery later in the season. With their short roster (only 18 players), nagging injuries, and numerous national team callups, they're going to be running on fumes at the end of the season.

Worth noting today: In 2005, Christine Sinclair and Megan Rapinoe were college teammates. Won the NCAA championship game 4-0, with Christine scoring 2 goals and Megan 1. A bit of firepower.

Why is that worth noting today? That game was on December 4, 2005. Sinc and Pinoe have had stellar careers in spite of their college experience.
So were 26 other Bruins, and Jill Ellis was the UCLA coach.

    RE: Suspended KC-NC game.

I did not like the way the game was leaning against NC during the first 30 minutes. KC Defense was Top of the Line. Barnie is Barnie. Becca Moros had her side of our attack shut down. Broon and Averbuch had the middle in control and Taylor is a rock on the right, she always is. LaBonta was bossing the midfield. Bowen and Groom overshadowed Leroux as serious threats.

How can KC have only 3 wins and be suffering 4 losses in a row?

...they do not have the ability to make up for good missing players like some other teams can.

...plus both syd and the defense seem to be shells of their former selves.

...still like how the team passes the ball, and hope the owners are patient with vladtko. but they are looking at houston's upswing since their coach was fired.
