Kante needs help in midfield. Fabregas is past his sell-by, Baka isn't any good, Barkley is always injured. Pedro is in decline, Willian turns 30, Cahill has fallen off of a cliff, Moses is not very good, Alonso is too slow against top sides. Then we have the striker situation-Morata has gone off the boil, Giroud is serviceable against bottom of the table teams and fine, but you'd rather he be a 3rd choice than 2nd. We have significant issues that need addressing.

Well we went for it, Conte will say I told you so as we ship 3 goals. He said after the city game that he played that way to avoid a 3-0 drubbing. But as a Chelsea fan I am happier after this 3-0 than the 1-0 against City.

Eh, without Messi we run circles around Barcelona tonight. Ridicule me for saying it, but I doubt it’d be difficult to find many others with the same opinion. They (almost completely because of Messi and to a lesser extent Courtois) were more clinical, we were not. Hit the post 4 times throughout the tie ffs. Alonso’s goes in before halftime or one of Willian’s in the first leg and the whole thing is different. Barcelona looked like scoring only when they actually scored +/- a chance or two and our mistakes. These two legs and this performance make me quite a bit more proud of the squad than any performance in the league this season
As with Ivanovic several seasons ago, we cannot be taken seriously when your wingback is your most dangerous player. Unacceptable.
But I mean, you have to contextualize it. 2 of those goals are unforgivable if you consider Tbo world class. A non call on a PK, hit the post twice, like ********... Shitty man. Given our less than stellar squad, we took it to them and got unlucky imo
Seriously, the only thing we were missing in the tie was luck + Barcelona had Messi (particularly in this leg in comparison to the first). Honorable mention goes out to Umtiti for playing pretty remarkably throughout both legs. You can’t fairly blame our collective performance for not going through. Christensen made a terrible mistake at home, Courtois could’ve and probably should’ve saved two goals away, and we hit the post 4 friggin’ times. We looked more threatening than 2012 ffs
I'm trying to think of the last time that TC made a save I WASN'T expecting him to make. Y'know, the sort that de Gea and several others make on a pretty regular basis.
I think this has been overblown as there were a few games this season and last he crushed it at 1-on-1s but today... today ... gotta do better
I think he has had very few games this year. Last I remember is the Arse game in the cup. He is average at best.
