Whichever party is responsible for letting the trophy go trolling had better find their a** in a fire today. That is not acceptable.
I thought this was an Onion story. And, here, people griped that Arthur Blanks got to hold the trophy a whole 2 minutes before the players.
Jeez Minessota has quite the list of players on waiver. Their academy or lack their of sure isn’t going to fill those spots. I’m sure they’ll be bringing in a lot of foreign talent.
From now on, it might be better to handle the trophy wearing gloves. Because, like they say, you don't know where it's been. Or in this case, you do.
Goodness really? Part of getting some character to the trophy are stories like these? The Stanley Cup has been in much worse places and its a much more "storied" piece of hardware. So the trophy went to a "men's club" big deal! 10 years from now people will recall this story with romanticism. Let's grow up and relax a bit eh?
I dont mind that the MLS Cup went to a men's club, but i do mind that the players thought it would be funny to have the strippers shake their booty at it. America's highest pro soccer trophy deserved better than to be treated that way. I bet no one would treat the Vince Lombardi trophy that way or the Word Series trophy. Heck in the world of soccer who would dare to treat the World Cup that way? It's just disrespectful and classless. Up until now i thought that drinking from the Stanley Cup as if it were Alexander's Cup of Hercules was stretching the boundaries of good taste--but this strip club incident takes the cake. I have to sadly agree that now this will go down in the history of the trophy---"hey remember when strippers twerked at the MLS Cup as if it were a client who had requested a chair dance?" facepalm.....
Didn't Brazil leave the World Cup trophy in the back seat of a cab in 1994? Along with $20K cash or something crazy like that.

Nobody but nobody thinks that Brazil are any good with respecting trophies. They are the absolute worst.
I'm pretty sure Alex Ovechkin and half the Washington Capitals now have carnal knowledge of the Stanley Cup. I can think of few less important things to worry about than this.
I don't like our Uncle Phil cup being disrespected. However this actually adds to teams cool factor among a demographic coveted by other sports. But please someone Lysol the cup asap !

What the hell is careless and irresponsible about it? It's not something you would do with it I understand. Did the trophy get lost? Is it scarred for life because it was in a men's club? What the trophy is going to remember being exposed to exotic dancers? Shame on you "trophy" you should have known better than to consort with these gals. But to say someone should have their asses in a fire today (not you specifically) is just craziness. These guys worked hard all their lived to reach the pinnacle of their sport here in USA, I think they can pretty much do what they wish short of breaking or damaging the trophy. This sounds like a new Seth MacFarlane movie. A talking soccer tournament trophy that likes to go to strip clubs. I call the rights to this script idea.
