-- You should all be watching WEC on the Versus network. It's a great league.

-- Per Dave Meltzer's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, plans are in the works for around the end of the year to merge WEC's Middleweight and Light Heavyweight fighters into the UFC, leaving WEC to focus on the Bantamweight, Featherweight, Lightweight, and Welterweight classes. I like the idea, as six weight classes is a whole lot to get matches for on TV - UFC has five, but a lot more TV time as well.

Wonder how they'd resolve the WEC titleholders, though. Paulo Filho and Anderson Silva train together and Silva's already said he'll never fight Filho. Filho would do it for the right price (read: a shitload of money).

It also sounds like the WEC might add a 125 lb division.

I think they really need to push hard for some of the Japan/Korea based fighters in the lower divisions to come over to the WEC. They just don't have enough fighters on their books at the moment to fill cards without the MW and LHW divs.

This show has been postponed until 11/5, due to the thread of Hurricane Ike.

Thread title has been edited to reflect this.

Well i didn't see that coming! 2 for five on my picks!

Filho needs some help, Garcia looks the business at 145 and Brown looked good but got a little bit lucky methinks.

Oh and rosholt needs to cut that ugly ass hair...

Really fun show, except for Filho/Sonnen.

-- Garcia does indeed look like he's for real - he was throwing some mean-looking hooks. Sad to see Pulver lose again. I wonder if he'll decide to say "screw this" and start being a trainer full-time.

-- Filho looked like absolute crap after not being able to make weight. Sonnen didn't force enough standups in the first round, but wised up later. He was still scared to make a mistake as the fight went on, but did more than enough to earn the decision.

-- I like Faber's style and all, but I think he wanted to be a bit too flashy which led to his getting caught. I'm almost certain we'll see a rematch in the Spring.
