My Way, another pretty good suggestion. Not sure if it has the same 'love of team' idea of either Stand By Me or Fools but a good standard that everyone knows and carries a connection for everyone.
Songs like this and Elvis' I can't....... IMHO could work because it has the original and a re-make that for the most part is upbeat, not so drunkenly slow. I'm into the upbeat, uplifting stuff, yes, even those cooky anthems you'd hear in the Bundesliga
Yellow would be the perfect song. In the other thread i put youll never walk alone and only fools rush in but this song is awesome!!! I think we should do it.
I was a HUGE fan of Yellow at the beginning. I think that people's bitching out on it was just that it was by Coldplay, and Coldplay takes a lot of shit. But overall, it was a good enough song, would sound good being sung by the Nordecke, and people could get into it. Then someone pointed out a problem that I was embarassed I hadn't thought of before. We say that we are Black and GOLD! GOLD! Not yellow. But the Crew organization have made this statement several times and whenever people used to make fun of their yellow, i'd say "its not yellow, its GOLD". The whole GOLD thing goes to such a point that I don't think we can have Yellow as an anthem. I could see it catching on easily, but I don't think its appropriate anymore. Personally, I think the whole genre thing should have nothing to do about it. It should be about how the song relates to the team and our devotion to the team. I thought "Yellow" did this very well. If it wasn't by Coldplay, some people may've boughten into it, but I don't think it works anymore. 1. Fools Rush In- thought we may have to speed it up. Works other than the whole "darling so it goes"- though it doesn't ruin it by any means. 2. Yellow- I think this should be out of contention for no other reason than because it is Yellow rather than Gold. 3. Stand By Me- again, has the whole "darlin, darlin" thing goin on. But it is pretty decent. Only problem is- it kinda sounds like we should only be singing it when Hunt says "we really might be goin to vegas". Whats everyone think? I would definately Vote for #1. What other songs are in contention? Remember- think about what it would sound like with a mass group singing it.
I get where you're coming from, buuuut this is not OSU with their whole red vs scarlet debate or anything like that. For me Gold and Yellow are interchangable, and on that note... And it was allllll YELLOW!

It's seems most people want some sort of an anthem so i think there should be a poll of the leading canidates for a week or something. And then after that is done talk with the FO to see what we can do... I mean we all want to be unique in terms of MLS and this would be a huge way of showing how unique we can be.
That's what I was thinking. Let the people decide, not only on this web site, but have a poll in the local media somewhere in Columbus. This should be brought up at the next (whenever that is) supporter/club meeting.
